The distro recommendation is usually mint, but I'd like to know, what does your setup look like? (Monitor specs, PC specs etc)

Blisterexe ,
@Blisterexe@lemmy.zip avatar

Oh yeah, then if you like the look of it, Linux mint is the best option

Blisterexe ,
@Blisterexe@lemmy.zip avatar

Congrats, I'd recommend Linux mint. Feel free to DM me/reply to this comment if you have any questions

With Firefox and unlock origin it'll remove all the cruft from websites, and you can degoogle your phone, making it more private than it was in 2014 (unless you install apps that don't respect your privacy)

Blisterexe ,
@Blisterexe@lemmy.zip avatar

Is it open source though?

Blisterexe ,
@Blisterexe@lemmy.zip avatar

Yeah I thought so ):

Blisterexe ,
@Blisterexe@lemmy.zip avatar

Well sometimes they use opensource stuff (like curl) in windows, so I thought maybe it was

Blisterexe ,
@Blisterexe@lemmy.zip avatar

So do you want that feature on your PC? Because you can get that

Blisterexe ,
@Blisterexe@lemmy.zip avatar

I'd recommend kagi or ddg like the other people, but brave search is also quite good, I like the fact it has a independent index

Coming to terms with no longer having privacy and control over my technology

I miss the days of VHS and DVD shelfs in homes, for example. If you bought the tapes and had them in your home, no corporate entity could alter those tapes without your consent, monitor how many times you watch them, sell your data to whomever they please without your knowledge, roll out new mandatory conditions to a 'user...

Basically the way sudo and doas work is that they turn your current session into a privileged one, then run the command, then put your session back the way it was, this can cause security issues.
The way run0 works is that it just asks systemd to do it for you, removing those security risks.

At least thats the way I understand it, im not an expert

Blisterexe ,
@Blisterexe@lemmy.zip avatar

if you have any questions id be glad to answer them!

Blisterexe ,
@Blisterexe@lemmy.zip avatar

Not sure, an easier way to do it is by running the mobile version of robloc with waydroid
