Its painfully obvious when watching Star Trek TNG.

Their core business is lost, IMO. Once they stopped offering movies in favor of their own content and tv shows, thats when it was game over for me.

Not just any pattern, is the Solo cup "Jazz" design from the 90s.

Technically wasn't. Some Russian company bought the rights and cleared old accounts at some point.

He seems like a cool dude tho, at least going off the interviews of him I've seen.

Trucks are a whole other issue into themselves, though. Not just the tire wear, but their terrible fuel economy.

I was explaining to my daughter about the differences between Gimp and Photoshop and saw that Adobe had a page that claimed to compare the two. It never compares the two. It barely mentions Gimp. (www.adobe.com)

I expected ridiculous propaganda from Adobe, but they give absolutely no reasons why Photoshop is better than Gimp and list a bunch of things that Gimp can do too....

altima_neo ,
@altima_neo@lemmy.zip avatar

Nah, there's other apps that have similar or the same shortcut keys. Gump just tries to be it's own thing and not worry about Photoshop.

I get the feeling its a failed attempt to be funny by referencing the Christmas sales events that car dealerships always have.

I mean everyone's scratching their heads and not finding it funny or anything, so I'd say yeah, failed attempt.

Yeah but where can one import these... for a friend?

A supermarket trip may soon look different, thanks to electronic shelf labels (www.npr.org)

Grocery store prices are changing faster than ever before — literally. This month, Walmart became the latest retailer to announce it’s replacing the price stickers in its aisles with electronic shelf labels. The new labels allow employees to change prices as often as every ten seconds....

altima_neo ,
@altima_neo@lemmy.zip avatar

Best Buy has them too, here in the US. Its nothing new. This analyst making these comments about the price increases is just full of shit.

altima_neo ,
@altima_neo@lemmy.zip avatar

It helps that it's an "industry analyst" and not someone from Walmart.

I can tell you, working in retail, there's no way they'd jack up prices during a heatwave for water. They still gotta compete with other stores, and charging more would cause shoppers to go to where it's cheaper.

Now if there's shortages all over town and even the followers can't keep up, I can see them fucking with prices. But they could do that right now if they wanted to. It's not hard to adjust prices.

The real advantage of electronic labels is not having a crew to replace stacks and stacks of labels all over the store. The cost of labor and cost of the actual label sheets and printer maintenance to keep all that up to date, I'm guessing, is getting to the point where it's cheaper to use electronics.

Also how obsessive forum moderators are over petty things like closing old threads and necro posting.

They're also seems to be a lot of issues with policy that they're expected to follow. And when they do unconstitutional stuff, they get defended for doing it.

Also Boeing is buying back it's fuselage supplier that it originally spun of into it's own business (because it wasn't profitable for Boeing back then).

The problem now is that supplier also makes fuselages for Airbus. So Boeing is gonna be making them for Airbus...

That's nothing. Doom is an old game, even boomers realize it.

Now, realizing Pokemon is 26 years old, PlayStation 2 is 24 years old and old enough to be a retro console, stuff I considered to be the new hotness... now that makes me feel old.

altima_neo ,
@altima_neo@lemmy.zip avatar

Yeah I remember when they started advertising them like that. Back when the towels were about twice as long between perforations.

Yeah seems the hardest part of quitting any habit is really the resolve to do so.

Basically it's all procedurally generated assets. It takes a long time to start to because it has to make all it's textures and sound effects.

Is definitely not pure c++. It's making use of direct x and even fonts available in Windows to create textures.

Didn't really have much installed aside from revanced and Firefox

Google's "Manifest V2" Chrome extension phaseout next month is expected to impact the original uBlock Origin extension, which still uses the V2 framework and has 37 million users (www.theregister.com)

The new MV3 architecture reflects Google's avowed desire to make browser extensions more performant, private, and secure. But the internet giant's attempt to do so has been bitterly contested by makers of privacy-protecting and content-blocking extensions, who have argued that the Chocolate Factory's new software architecture...

Good thing I've always used Firefox.

Chrome always seemed more of a curiosity than something I needed to use. I never saw the need to switch from Firefox when Firefox did everything I wanted.

Yeah, that's what a double chocolate cookie tends to be!

Then there's triple, which usually has a devil's food cookie with two kind of chocolate pieces.

On one hand, that's shitty.

On the other hand, I cant imagine anyone in my family gives a shit about my games.
