As stated in the post title, this online raft's not only for players, but also enthusiasts, both casual and dedicated, of the non-profit, four-key rhythm/mystery visual novel game that's bound to test your hand and sight reflexes with well-made song charts and course journeys, vivid/statis, itself made by Hajimeli and Team...
I plan to selfhost nextcloud, for now just for bookmark sync. is there a point to installing a vpn on the computer running the instance? it shouldnt matter as long as i have https right? what about if i dont have a domain? i cant have https without a domain (ill buy one later just want everything to work first). or maybe use one...
Since I'm having untracable issues with Lua due to its API and lackluster documentation, I've decided to drop it from my game engine (PixelPerfectEngine) in favor of some easier to use alternatives....
Note: It seems my original post from last week didn't get posted on lemmy.world from kbin (I can't seem to find it) so I'm reposting it. Apologies to those who may have already seen this....
Hey y'all, I've been using my.freenom as my domain registrar for the past six years without too many issues. I've kept it mainly because it has been cheap as balls. However, I am now looking for a registrar that supports dynamic dns and would love to hear your suggestions. The first results that pop up are google and godaddy...
I forced myself to go back a little to Reddit recently. Because while I endorse and love the existence of the Fediverse, I can't in good conscience, tolerate the instability of it. Any other time I go somewhere, I'm met with a page that says KBin is working on resolving issues, then I go somewhere else and it's fine....
I've been recommended some communities on Lemmy servers, but when I go to kbin.social/m/community_name@server, I get a 404. What do I need to do for a community to get federated?

Over on feddit.uk I saw this fun thread, with multiple people confidently claiming "anyone who is in a public place can have no reasonable expectation of privacy". (If I screwed up my link, sorry, I'm still not great at more than posting comments.) That may be a legally correct understanding, but it's overreach....
So I have two coworkers who I want to help out with a problem. They have to collaborate on upgrades in a old factory, and they both use the same excel spreadsheet to keep track of the to-do list....
Recently I found this developer who has published dozens of small, useful extensions for firefox. Nothing groundbreaking that I know of but everything looks to have been made with care to efficiency and minimal permissions to do one thing well. Each has its own github repo where the developer responds to issues....
I know about PixelFed, but I'm not interested in photo sharing social media style. I just want something that works like Imgur when you upload your images as private. Maybe PixelFed has that option?...
I'm truly very fascinated by Fediverse, but I only discovered it 2 weeks ago and that's why I'm devouring it and still have a lot of doubts. I research tutorials, save links and my main intention is to communicate with cool people to exchange good ideas!
