You really don't want them 'close' to the store.
Too many people will park in specialty parking spaces like grocery pick-up/handicap/pregnant spaces because they'd rather not walk 10 extra steps. As far as I can tell nothing happens, the stores refuse to call a tow truck on a possible customer.
