Vandaag heeft de consumentenbond een artikel gepubliceerd over de tarieven van internet en de marktmacht van KPN en VodafoneZiggo. Een boeiende inkijk in de telecommarkt.
The phrase 'Open Standards' is widely used but not well-understood. Let's take a look at what openness in standards is, with a focus on whether and how it helps to legitimise the design and maintenance of the Internet.
We're putting out a survey to #Fediverse instance admins, regarding the size, operational costs, and community funding of instances. The survey is very brief, and completely anonymous. We hope to compile this data into a report in the near future.
This is such an embarassingly human centred headline: "The 'smart' animal club keeps getting bigger" - No! It was always huge!
It is humanity that is very slowly and reluctantly getting smarter at recognising the smartness of animals.
Also, please don't rank animal's smartnesses. That's just awful. Species are highly adapted to their environment. For some, that brings them closer to our very human - and thus not at al universal - definition of smartness. That's all.

We were brainstorming for a name for the deadly speed inducing roundabouts NA loves to build and we found one : a carnado
If one of you ever makes a video mentioning them I'd love to hear that name, not just because it's funny but a good catchy and a self explaining name is a formidable advocacy tool
Picking up on a cluster of topics I previously discussed here: https://merveilles.town/@lrhodes/112639145917059317 I still see some people putting politics behind a CW on fedi, but I don't see as many people insisting on it as did once upon a time. The norm is still in practice, but has been largely overwhelmed by norms people brought with them from other platforms. In particular, Twitter—though political discourse isn't as broadly caustic here as it was there. At least, not most of the time.
The @EUCommission wastes our tax payer money to team up with #Microsoft the #gatekeeper and notorious #antitrust villain and sue the EU data protection agency @EDPS because the Commission wants to continue to use the #M365 software #security shitshow.
