WBEZ just had a pledge drive and didn't meet their goals.
NPR has its problems, but your local station does really valuable journalism for your area and it's accessible to all.
If you haven't listened to your local affiliate or checked out their website, see what you think of their work. If you find it valuable, and you have the means, I think it's good to support such work. Especially now, good, accessible journalism covering your local area and not just national news is important to preserve
@TechConnectify When I worked at WAMU, as it was climbing to become the most listened-to radio station in Washington, we had a staff of fewer than 20 people — everyone was either creating content, raising money or overseeing wires and cables (I produced the Diane Rehm Show by myself; the evening talk show was produced by the host). I looked at the WBEZ staff page today. (1/2)
The hashtags tab has received a makeover and now includes the ability to create Hashtag Lists! Curate multiple hashtags into a single timeline that you can access the same way you can access regular Lists. Currently available to try on Mac and iOS over on TestFlight.
The last beta featured our new share sheet extension and we know it’s been a long wait for the App Store release, but we are almost there! Trying to finish up a few more tasks so we can get this big update out ASAP.
I received a report that PlayStation declines this icon when submitting games for approval, due to the use of the wrong type of 'N'. The pack has been updated, sorry if this caused any inconvenience 🙇♂️
I get frustrated when folks get angry at others for being "not normal". I think "normal" people often assume that "not normal" people are attacking them or trying to invalidate them by being counter to their culture. The reality is the "not normal" person is just trying to exist with what is normal to them. I wish folks allowed more space for others to live their own reality.
it's often so complex to add #ActivityPub to an already existing platform (for example #WordPress ) and it gets even more complex if it is not built for social media 😱
For example
Deleting Users from the Fediverse, that still exist on the blog.
Delete the whole blog from the fediverse, but take temporary plugin deactivations/deletions into account.
However I'm wrestling a bit with the activity library we're using in order to get it to generate usable Go types. It's quite possible that the .jsonld document is completely barmy.
@JamesGleick@pbump Nothing wrong with a can of Monster & some vitamin B. Don't forget the old stage trick of putting a little vaseline on your teeth so your lips don't stick when you get dry mouth.
So I just got back from a Menards run and I've noticed something fascinating:
Menards has always had a lot of store brands. But they're really pushing a new food brand called Marcella. Stuff like coffee, jams and jellies, prepared foods, sodas, etc. A lot of it is fairly unique - I bought a maraschino cherry cola on a whim and it was pretty great!
The weird part? They're pricing this in-house stuff higher than name brands. The soda was a tad more expensive than the Sprecher's next to it!
Worth grepping your source code for "polyfill.io" and taking urgent measures to remove that code if you're linking it into your site - the domain name apparently now intermittently serves malicious JavaScript
New on Threads: We’re expanding sharing with the fediverse 🧵👇
In March, we announced a beta experience in a few locations. Now, we’re expanding that beta to Threads users in 100+ countries and adding additional fediverse functionality.
If you have ever been in an online group, you are well aware that its convenience comes with many limitations, including admins who have definitive control over everybody else.
These aren’t just annoyances — @ntnsndr 's newest piece discusses the “implicit feudalism” of digital groups and why we need more democratic communities online.
