Incremental Social lets you chat in a format similar to Discord using a platform called Matrix. With Matrix, you can chat with people both within Incremental Social as well as any other Matrix community, create your own public "rooms" to discuss particular topics, and never get asked to pay for features.
To start chatting, you can use the default Matrix web client hosted on Incremental Social, called Cinny. Simply log in at chat.incremental.social. You can also choose to use your own client or simply join the Incremental Social space from your account on another Matrix home server.
If you prefer to use your own Matrix client, you can easily do so by specifying https://matrix.incremental.social
as your home server during the login process. This allows you to log in using your Incremental Social account while using your preferred client.
If you already have a Matrix account that is not from Incremental Social, you can still join the Matrix space hosted on Incremental Social. You can join the Matrix space at #hub:incremental.social.
As part of the Incremental Social community, you are encouraged to make use of public rooms for discussing specific incremental games or topics of interest. Public rooms provide a platform for open discussions and connecting with individuals with shared interests.
There is a discord bot that can be used to interact with discord servers. A couple channels within the incremental social space already bridge with relevant channels on the Profectus & Friends discord server. If you message in one of those channels, it'll appear on the other platform - although it'll show up as a "bot" message on discord and have a "discord_" matrix id on matrix (although you'll typically just see the username, which is identical to the discord user). If you'd like and you trust thepaperpilot with potential access to your discord account you can link your accounts by messaging link
to @discordbot. Keep in mind this is a dangerous thing to do and even though thepaperpilot has no intention of spying or otherwise abusing any linked accounts, linking is NOT required nor recommended because of the security risks involved. If you do link the account, you can bridge discord servers for your own use, if you're looking to ditch discord entirely. Bridged servers will NOT be shared with any other matrix users by default.
We also have a bridge setup for slack, although there are no public bridged channels. If you'd like to ditch the slack client, you can link your slack account by messaging @slackbot. The same security risks apply as with linking your discord account.
