I do use Linux, and I'm usually glad about it, but I wasted an hour last night trying to figure out how to change my microphone port to a subwoofer port, and never did solve the problem. Linux is awesome, but sometimes basic stuff is ridiculously difficult or impossible.

Yes, and it's trivial to retask with the AC97 HD Audio program in Windows, but I couldn't find an equivalent program for Linux.

Facebook got so bad that you couldn't even see anything your friends posted. It was all sponsored content. So eventually most people completely stopped posting, myself included. It looks like they backed off that BS a couple of days ago, but it's probably too late, the flight away has already occurred.

I guess it depends on where the beach house is located. I stayed at a beach house in San Diego for a week once in my 20's, and it was fucking amazing! That was one of the most fun weeks of my entire life. The short 2' wall in-between the beach and the house kept all of the sand out, and there weren't any seagulls. We sat on the porch drinking beer, BBQing, and inviting people who walked past to join us. It was paradise.

Homegrown tomatoes reveal that the stuff we're served at grocery stores and cheap restaurants aren't really tomatoes at all. I've never tried to grow from seeds out of grocery store produce because you can get packets of seeds for a couple of bucks, and I've heard that the produce from grocery store seeds will be sub-par.

We don't even provide it, they just take it. You can't do anything to stop them. Getting inaccurate information removed is a full-time job.

Noob Question: If you aren't willing to deal with custom OSes like Linux (for computers) and Android Custom Roms (for phones), do you just not have any privacy at all?

I mean, exactly how invasive are default operating systems? (Like Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, Android, iOS) Do they log your keystrokes, log passwords, capture screen, upload your photos, videos, or audio? (Assuming you aren't a target of government) Is it even possible for the average person who doesn't feel comfortable messing...

Mac is less intrusive than Windows. Windows 10 is a whole lot less intrusive than Windows 11. You can lock Windows 10 down even more if you use Shut Up 10. It's an amazing piece of freeware. Just be aware that Windows will reset a lot of your options after major updates.

Duck Duck Go is more secure than any other search engine and browser. Firefox is next in the list if you're not on a Mac. Get uBlock Origin and NextDNS.io.

Don't give your real information to companies when possible. Don't browse the web logged into Google, Facebook, Reddit, TikTok, etc.
