A used watch 5 pro (or just buy a new one) can be had for like $160. I can leave all my stuff turned on and I always get over 48 hours. Plus WOS is just better than tizen, hands down.

That said, I had a ticwatch pro 5 for a bit and it was better in every single way but one, so I had to send it back. It had a couple bugs they couldn't figure out how to get rid of with my Note 20 Ultra compatibility.

Still sad I don't have that watch anymore. Awesome dual screen set up, better processor, more ram, faster ram, more storage, bigger and longer lasting battery, Smoother navigation. It would be the go to android watch if they could get their software compatibility up to snuff and support their devices longer.

ColeSloth ,

I wish I could still get a higher end phone with an SD card slot. I'm holding onto my s20 ultra (I like the pen) until I'm forced out for security update reasons.

ColeSloth ,

I rather liked it. I mean he was just re-phrasing questions he's seen without having to bother with direct quotes and making sure the questions were articulate.

It's pretty important to get this info out there and make sure everyone and their 2nd cousin knows about it. If Microsoft can't make this absolutely infallible on a security front it will almost be laughable at how many people could get completely fucked over by this. Every hacker and country in the world are going to be poking at the security of this feature. It would be the holy grail of infosec penetration.

ColeSloth ,

Physical pain? Zero.

Now emotional pain? I'm not sure it would even be able to accomplish emotional pain. So much of our emotions are intertwined with chemical balances and releases. If a brain achieved consciousness, but had none of these chemicals at all......I don't know that'd even work.

ColeSloth , (edited )

Didn't have to. Kind of an obvious thing to point out, but OP didn't specify what type of pain he meant, so I figured I would, just in case.

ColeSloth ,

Physical pain only exists from nerves. Brains don't have any nerves. No nerves. No pain.

ColeSloth ,

I'm not sure what color skittles I ate, but im feeling....horny.

I took it as Fry is drinking non American beer, because American beer tastes like water.

But really, outside of a couple large national beer chains that sell their low cost "bud, coors, Busch, natty" America has a shit ton of small breweries that make a large variety of beers that aren't that way. There's literally over 9,000 operating breweries in the US.

ColeSloth ,

There's over 9,000 breweries in the US, and you'll find many aren't all hopped up ipas. Go do some googles searching, maybe take a Lil tour if they'll show you around, and just start trying to buy from the source when you find something you like. There's likely one near you.

So in the non US game version, Soda Popinski is named Vodka Dunkenski.

Survive round one and tyson gets a bit easier.

I still have this game on my still working NES from 1987. MTPO and Tecmo Bowl are still fantastic.

*edit. That's supposed to be "Drunkinski".

ColeSloth ,

Went back and did some reading. It was an arcade game called punch out that came out around 1984. Vodka Drunkinski. No Mike Tyson.

Nes got the rights to make a console game but their "family friendly" mantra called for him to be renamed to not be alcohol related.

The NES release of Punch out in Japan had 10,000 gold cartridges given away as prizes and such in Japan a bit before launch. No Tyson.

Then Nintendo of America's founder and president went and watched a Mike Tyson boxing mach, a bit before he ever became World Champ, and was like "daaaaaaaaaamn. We need him in our game as the final champ".

They signed a 3 year deal to use his name and likeness for the now "Mike Tysons Punch-out" in exchange for $50,000. You could say it was a small amount, but no one knew how popular the game would be and it was risking that maybe he wouldn't ever even become champ and he was getting added into the game completely last minute.

So MTPO dropped in 1987, Tyson Became world champ in 1987 (cause he was a scary flipping beast in the late 80's), the game was a huge hot (obvs) and if you own the cartridge from 87 through 90 you get to have MT in it. Everything released after 1990 is no Tyson, including any digital downloads and wii version or switch or whatever. It has a fictional "Mr.Dream".

So you want Mike, you have to pirate it, or you have to own a cartridge from the first few release years.

ColeSloth ,

Nice, but I really want to see what Matt Tukk looks like or something. Like, I crave an interview. Lol

ColeSloth ,

Containing it for a while seems to be super hard. It's really corrosive to most anything that can withstand the heat and pressure. Basically, they haven't managed to make plumbing that works for it. Liquid salt gets mad at shit all the time.

ColeSloth ,

Inuit lost like 16% this past week. That's a $113 drop per share for em.

ColeSloth ,

"Those materials have to be made available at the same prices the manufacturer charges to authorized repair providers."

One screen order $189. Three or more screens $120 a piece.

ColeSloth ,

Yeah. There's zero reason a disk drive with a recognized genuine serial tied to it shouldn't work in any other system you stick it in that the system could verify online.

ColeSloth ,

Facts.

ColeSloth ,

Good. The US can make e bikes. The problem is that the tariffs need to be solidified in place for a minimum of 10 years or manufacturers won't invest in the infrastructure to make them. If the tariffs seem likely to go away soon, no one will bother doing it on a large scale. All the Chinese made batteries are garbage, anyhow. There's only a handful of actual quality small lithium batteries and they're samsung, panasonic, Westinghouse, and miel. The ones from china horribly lie about capacity and start failing way too soon. There's a reason all the power tool batteries inside Dewalt and makita and such never use Chinese batts inside. Same for all the high end cordless vacuums. You open up a dyson battery pack, you'll never find chinesium.

ColeSloth ,

Yeah....there's actually a bunch of e bike companies that are US based that do all the design and spec work in the US and are built at various places overseas. EBC builds em in the US, using mostly overseas parts. As far as "design generations" go the US is one of the global leaders. Juiced and Rad Power have both been making e bikes for 15 years, bucko.

ColeSloth ,

Yeah. New battery tech is always almost about to come out......15 years and waiting.

ColeSloth ,

9 of the 10 largest lithium Mines aren't in China. They're mostly Australia and Chile. Also, the largest known lithium deposit in the world is near Oregon, USA.

ColeSloth ,

They refine a lot, but hardly have most of the lithium. Most of the bigger mining operations are out of Chile or Austrailia. The largest known lithium deposit is in the USA around Oregon. They haven't started mining that one, yet. 20 to 40 million metric tons of mineable lithium.

ColeSloth ,

Some minor changes here and there, but the underlying makeup of the batteries and their shortcomings have been largely the same. Lithium and issues with dendrites that cause them to go bad/lose capacity after around 2,500 complete charge cycles. Most of the improvements have consisted of pulse charging different cells at a time in large batteries and trying to always keep the batteries in the 30% to 80% capacity range to extend the lifespan. Batteries last longer if you put one big enough in a vehicle to go 400 miles, but only allow for a 200 mile range.

ColeSloth ,

We haven't doubled at all over the past 15 years, though. That's completely false. Not in capacity or cycles.

ColeSloth ,

So lithium is OK, so long as it's cheap and gotten off the backs of chinese?

ColeSloth ,

Holy fuck that's clever and original.

ColeSloth ,

Disclosed? It shouldn't be allowed at all.

ColeSloth ,

Scam how? Selling pre-launch could have been a scam. Money taken from investors could have been a scam, depending on what they pitched. But selling after a complete and known flop of a release? There's no cards left on the table to be scammy about. "Here's our brand name. Here's our patent collection. We'd like to think our patents are worth a ton of money, but we know we'd be lucky getting twenty million."

ColeSloth ,

Even if they did want to give up their phones, they wouldn't for anything with a two to four hour device. Let alone something that only has a mild neato factor of a low powered laser projector. Smart watches do the same shit with a longer battery life and virtually no one's replacing their phones with those, either.

ColeSloth ,

Easy to solve.

Buy one of those electric hand warmers and wedge it between the two thermostats.

ColeSloth ,

Any pay wall that let's you read that much article before showing itself to be behind a pay wall can burn in hell and would have no hope of getting my business purely out of spite.

ColeSloth ,

I need a hot key on my android phone to just flip off scripts real quick instead of having to go three pages deep in settings to turn it on or off.

ColeSloth ,

I want a blacklist instead of a whitelist. On by default, but always off on some sites.

ColeSloth ,

Now we're talking. I wonder if I can set up the apk I use for Lemmy (Thunder) to use ff instead of chrome. Time to check some stuff.

ColeSloth ,

I rarely get McDonald's, but one of these ones was built near where I live a couple years ago (replacing an old one). It is always a complete ghost town inside. No one eats there. They have all the parking and all the seats. Just none of the customers.

ColeSloth ,

Their fries used to do it for me. A long time ago they were fried in tallow and they had a better ratio of longer fries. They also used an amount of salt that tasted good right after getting out of the fry oil so it would stick to the fries, but the huge difference was the oil. They tasted so much better. Now my favorite fry choice is Arby's curly fries.

ColeSloth ,

Not the Mac n cheese for the last like 20+ years. It used to use real cheese and really did taste better. I know the internet got all uppity against kraft a while back, claiming they started making the noodle portion worse somewhere around 2016 or something, but that's nothing compared to the big taste difference that happened when they stopped using real cheese.

ColeSloth ,

If your country was suddenly invaded and had 1200 mostly civilian, including women and children gunned down in one of your cities, including shooting up a concert, and your country had the means to stop it from happening again, would they? Even if it meant other likely innocent people would die in the process as well? Would your country be willing to wipe another country off the map in order to make sure that your people were never attacked and killed again?

So that's the reason. Isreal was attacked with no regard by a country that ran by a group of people after the goal of completely eliminating Isreals existence.

Now the entire middle easts history is convoluted as hell and many sides have fought with many others. The "blame game" puck could be passed around 100 times. But what would you feel your country would be justified to do if they were invaded by surprise like that? Would they make sure it couldn't happen again? Would you feel it was justified? It may not be a clear yes or no answer, or where a line should be drawn.

ColeSloth ,

But she's both naked bottomed, and wearing shorts, at the same time.

ColeSloth ,

If you read another article that has more information to it, instead of just this opinion piece, it looks like they hired and paid a voice actress and that it is her natural voice (supposedly).

Which begs the question: Can a voice actor be denied work or denied the ability to have their voice used, if they sound similar to someone else who is more famous?

ColeSloth ,

Well one of the other articles I've read said they listened to and sampled 400 voice actors and selected 5 of them to have flown out to do all the voice work. The voice in the product also doesn't sound that much like Scar Jo. Just similar. She never had a very unique voice.

ColeSloth ,

Then what about impersonators for hire? Or like a Motley Cru cover band?

ColeSloth ,

The voice they're using isn't a replicated one, though. It's a paid voice actress and it is supposed to be her natural voice. It also does sound a bit different than scar jo.

ColeSloth ,

Ditto.

If you ever re-watch Milo and Otis, you'll be traumatized at how many puppies or kittens they probably went through.

ColeSloth ,

The point is you don't need to be at your house, or a place to set a tiny TV, or a kickstand, or a wall outlet. Also, if you're using an Xbox controller, I can't overstate how hard you are missing out on gyro controlled aiming on a steam deck. It works incredibly well.

ColeSloth ,

Nope. No issues at all. Uses up like 5% of the battery per day to be suspended like that, so if I'm playing through a game I can play the entire thing without ever seeing a boot screen or intro or having to worry about getting to a save point. Just right back into or out of the game within a couple seconds.

ColeSloth ,

I remember having that happen to me sometimes when I was playing borderlands quite a while back, but what I've been playing the past several months doesn't have it happen, so I thought they fixed it. If they haven't, I guess it must be game specific.
