For me, Google video search, Google books (Internet Archive is good, but doesn't always have the same stuff), Adobe InDesign (but in the process of learning LaTeX), and Typewise. As for the Google stuff, I liked Whoogle a lot, but almost all their instances seem to have been blocked or shut down. Also, apologies if this is...

TotalCommander.

I was using Norton Commander in DOS in the 90s, then WindowsCommander in Windows 3, which was renamed TotalCommander. Using this for maybe 35 years. I don't know how to use Windows gui to copy/paste or explore multiple folders etc.

I absolutely hate it for medias like music or movies. Back in the time, you had your CD and DVD/BD in physical format. Now there's music you about cannot buy to own. Same for old movies, you cannot find them physically, only rent them on youtube for instance.

oh yes, virtualdub, ffmpeg, all the codec and their option, containers, etc, it was an art

Yes, this is why you should use DNS over TLS. My router signal to every DHCP client that it is the DNS resolver, and internally use DoT/dnssec to query IPs. It also intercepts every request on DNS port in case of some DNS are hard-coded on some devices.
