Am I the only one who doesn't care about this?

Photoshop has existed for some time now, so creating fake nudes just became easier.

Also why would you care if someone jerks off to a photo you uploaded, regardless of potential nude edits. They can also just imagine you naked.

If you don't want people to jerk off to your photos, don't upload any. It happens with and without these apps.

But Instagram selling apps for it is kinda fucked, since it's very anti-porn, but then sells apps for it (to children).

The difference is if someone else can reasonably find out. If I tell someone that I think about them/someone else while masturbating, that is sexual harassment. If I have pictures on my wall and guests could see them, that's sexual harassment.

If I just have an encrypted folder, not a problem.

I honestly don't think we should encourage uploading this many photos as private people, but that's something else.

You don't need consent to jerk off to someone's photos. You do need consent to tell them about it. Creating images is a bit riskier, but if you make sure no one ever sees them, there is no actual harm done.

Heyo, not OP, but have been doing the same for almost a year now.

I mealprep for four days, due to the size of my pot and bowls.

Breakfast

Ingredients

(4 portions)

  • 400g Tofu
  • (High-protein) soy-milk
  • Salt, Pepper, Paprika-Powder, Curry-Powder, Chili-Flakes, Herbs
  • 8 Slices of whole-grain bread
  • Margarine
  • Mustard

Mealprep

Crumbled Tofu. I just crumble 400g of tofu in a bowl, add salt, pepper, curry-powder, paprika-powder, chili flakes, and some pre-chopped and dried herbs. I add about 4 shots of soy-milk, mix everything and put it in a glass with the lid on. (I eyeball the amount of spices. Maybe start making one portion (100g Tofu for me) and see how you like the spices. As starting point paprika- and curry-powder are the same amount, as are chili-flakes and herbs.) The original recipe used only cumin, salt and pepper, so just play around till you find something that tastes good.

Heating it up

Relatively simple: Just put margarine and mustard on 2 slices of bread. Put a quarter of the prepared Tofu in a pan. I add another shot of soy-milk to make it stickier. Fry the Tofu and spread it on the Bread.

Dinner

Ingredients

(for 4 portions)

  • 2 onions
  • 600g of brown rice
  • about 180g of vegan ground-meat (depends on package size)
  • Chili-flakes, Pepper, Herbs
  • enough bullion-powder for 3-4 liters, or to taste
  • some (sesame-)oil
  • (20g of creatine)

Mealprep

Chop the onions, add a bit of oil to a large pot, add the onions, vegan ground-meat, pepper, herbs and chili-flakes. Fry it until the onions are glassy. Add the rice, about 1.8 Liters of water, bullion-powder and creatine. Let it cook with a lid until all the water is soaked into the rice. Be careful at the end to not burn the rice. Divide the mushy rice into 4 containers and put them in the fridge. There should be a bit of space left in the container for the rice to rise, otherwise the water will squeeze out and turn the rice on the bottom to mush.

Heating it up

If your first meal is after preparation, just eat it, while its warm. Otherwise get a large pan, put some oil in it and fry the rice until its hot. I usually fill the container with warm water to also heat it up. That way I don't have to clean an extra plate. (My containers are made from glass, but can withstand a big heat-difference, do not do, if not sure.)

Lunch

Yea, idk. I should probably eat lunch, but it's extra work. If anyone knows something easy, preferably with lentils, beans or peas, let me know.

Meal-sizes

At some point I calculated the macros I need and it roughly fits. You should probably do the same. Also I take a multi-vitamin/mineral since I don't have the nerve to prepare veggies.

OK, that's some US issues.

But if enough people want something, it'll happen. It's just that 50% of the US hates the other 50% and vice versa.

Abortion has long been a contentious issue and will probably be a big part of the election. Republicans are currently shooting themselves in the foot with that.

I don't think there is a moral reason against direct democracy. You just need enough people to get on board with the idea. But in america the Republicans would loose a lot of power, so they won't vote for it.

Elected officials are relatively reliable. Maybe not for needs, but for wants. Biden for example made increasing demands of Israel, as popular opinion (of his voterbase) shifted. Sadly nobody cares about smaller issues, so there isn't really pressure to change e.g. right to repair. Maybe on local level smaller stuff can change.

Politics is so contentious, because the algorithms feed us different realities. If I was reading conservative news 24/7 I might also start thinking that climate change doesn't exist, the gays are coming for my children etc.

There is similar stuff on the left, just not as widespread. Democratic voters are on average moderate CNN-watching boomers.

No idea how to fix this. Similar issues are starting here in Germany, but a bit less. I think the "Tagesschau" and similar news are probably a big reason Germany is relatively moderate compared to others.

I don't want my salary dependent on how we are doing on a monthly basis.

If I create my own company, sure. But I can kinda control it.

If there are a thousand other people voting for dumb stuff and I loose a third of my income, I'm gonna loose it.

Also if we are doing equal splits, college is actually useless. Why would I waste my time becoming an engineer, if I could have earned the same money the whole time instead. Even worse with american college, where you not just loose all the salary from not working but also like 10-20,000 in tuition.

Did some research (read the wiki).

Seems like working at a co-op sacrifices wage stability and maybe wage amount in favor of job-security.

It solves some issues, but gives way to new ones.

While the jobs seem to be more secure, they also grow slower, so hire less.

This suggests to me, that the workload can also vary with the wage.

Overall I wouldn't like it. I like planning my stuff. If once in a blue moon I get layed off, I can make new plans. But adjusting ervery month sounds exhausting.

I don't think salary caps are necessary. Just having steeper tax brackets will eventually lead to a soft cap, while not feeling like a punishment. Maybe even a simple function instead of brackets, its more dynamic and easier to calculate.

Wealth tax is kinda weird, since first someone needs to estimate the wealth, which is not easy. Then the amount to be paid probably needs to be cash, since 20% of e.g. a house is pretty useless. But actually liquefying enough wealth can have wild effects. For example Tesla stock plummeted for a while due to elon needing twitter-money.

In a sense it could prevent companies from growing. If I own a company imma make sure it stays below the threshold, since I don't want to sell my shares and loose voting-rights.

Or if you look at countries trying to seize Russian oligarchs' property: A lot failed, due to no one knowing who actually was the owner.

There is an argument for "unskilled" labor, tho. If you don't have enough leverage, to get a good job, making the one you have better with democracy might work. You just also take on more risk by sharing ownership.

In a way it's already proving my point. By having cheaper in-network doctors the price goes down if you are able to choose.

The problem is, that healthcare is often an emergency thereby creating an inelastic market by removing that choice.

That doesn't mean that the American health care system isn't also super weird for other reasons tho.

It's not that much landlords but homeowners. They want to keep their property-value, so they vote to block any rezoning. And since they're mostly boomers they vote a lot and show up to local hearings etc.
Landlords just don't have that much political power.

If the conclusion translates to way stricter conditions for aid (rolling back settlements, carving out pathways for aid, etc.) you won't get called fascist. If your conclusion is to let Trump into office, you are.

The first take is also a problem.

Genocide has a specific definition. The term is probably not applicable to Gaza, and doesn't have to be. A humanitarian crisis also leads to the above mentioned conclusion. Starting to call everything a Genocide that is nowhere near that level primarily has two effects:

  • First it shuts down any debate about what is happening and what actions to take as a consequence. People who don't agree with the application of the term "genocide" will see you conspiracy theorists or similar. People who agree will write off all arguments as genocide denial. Stunlocking all processes that could lead to action.

  • Secondly, and most importantly, it muddles the term. Genocide doesn't seem that bad if Israel is doing one or even Canada. While it does draw attention to your current issues, it simultaneously downplays actual recognized genocides.

An example of the second Point is, that a lot of people calling it a genocide are calling for aid to stop and NOT immediate intervention in the ONGOING genocide. Which would be a more appropriate reaction to genocide.

It honestly feels like a psy-op by Trumpels. How is your solution to this Conflict getting Trump - who is all the way on Israels side - into office? The man is one of the reasons for this situation, by cutting aid, by initiating the Abraham Accords, where "The plight of the Palestinians was an afterthought, if even that."

The intent is probably the most important part of this definition and I don't believe that Israel fulfills that part. There are extensive measures taken to prevent civilian deaths.
However this is still a war, in which civilians die.

There are also rules about human shields which defines using human shields as "... intentional co-location of military objectives and civilians ...". Which Hamas has undeniably been doing.

The burden to keep civilians out of military targets falls to the governing authority, which is Hamas.

It is important to recognize, that all these rules around war are designed to protect some groups (civilians) while still allowing for military operations. The problem is, that if these rules were to prevent nations from pursuing military objectives, because the other party commits war crimes (such as using human shields) nobody would follow these laws.

For that reason civilians kind of loose most protections when used as human shields (§3). As well as proportionally laws taking effect, that permit civilian harm to an extend if it is necessary to pursue proportionally valuable military objectives.

THAT DOESN'T MEAN IT'S NOT BAD, just probably not illegal under international law. It is reasonable to demand change and to condemn Israel on moral grounds however.
Personally I also believe Israel needs to do some big changes in regards to settlements and humanitarian aid. But also the status quo needed to change. I don't understand Hamas' goal, they obviously will never win. Idk why they are refusing ceasefire agreements etc. I understand resentment against Israel, but let's be real, their negotiating power just becomes less and less.

And obviously everything needs to be investigated, but I don't know if any damming convictions actually come from this.
