T-Mobile's Forced Arbitration

In an effort to increase my privacy, I decided to buy a Pixel phone second hand to use with GrapheneOS. Due to some miscommunications, the phone ended up being carrier locked with T-Mobile. GrapheneOS's own website advises against buying carrier locked phones in order to avoid the hassle of carrier unlocking it....

Mataresian ,

Aside from this phone locking being complete BS. Wasn't it possible to pay a third party to unlock it? I did that some years ago though we bought that phone with a huge discount which made it worth it.

Mataresian ,

Yea I got it done at this guy with good genuine reviews. So it seemed like legit and the phone is still working perfectly.

Linus Tech Tips (LTT) release investigation results on former accusations (x.com)

There were a series of accusations about our company last August from a former employee. Immediately following these accusations, LMG hired Roper Greyell - a large Vancouver-based law firm specializing in labor and employment law, to conduct a third-party investigation. Their website describes them as “one of the largest...

Though that is fruit for thought I can not find any information to back op that claim. I did however found articles about them defending remote working. It's a bit too easy to me to throw out claims such as this without backing it up with facts. But if you do have any other examples I would love to read them.

I don't get it mate, you had me at your first comment because it seemed fairly written. But lose me at the following 2.

Ooh no that's a fair point. Some mistrust is definitely justified until proven differently due to the high potential in conflict of interest.

Mataresian ,

Fair enough, do you have some examples you know off to feed my curiosity on this topic? If not I understand if you want to hide the negative feelings in a deep part of your brain.

Mataresian ,

I'm annoyed by the caps but you had me at the first paragraph

Mataresian ,

I am also wondering where that amount comes from. Though I do not think it should be based on profit. A company can also be unprofitable on purpose in a region in order to destroy the competition an gain market share. Then after conquering the market they increase the prices again.

In this case I suppose it also be difficult to quantify the fine. Of course the duration of the anti-competitive behaviour should also be taken into consideration and apples low willingness to better itself. Is there any article explaining the 500m euro?
