I haven't slept in 24hrs and honestly I don't get the hate. Just use gnome default and it works that's it. no need to customise just use as is and doesn't break.

Correct me if I'm wrong but Ubuntu is the mostly used Linux desktop OS out there so I wouldn't call it unsuccessful.

Edit : I'm an idiot I can't read snaps are not successful Ubuntu is

Honestly I understand where you're coming from but I'm going to be a bit pragmatic, it's free, it centralizes all my shit chat apps into one "shit app" (the app is excellent so far) I won't bridge it to signal because that would be my safe app but for insta, messenger, Discord, telegram and even SMS/RCS I have no issues

I understand her point and imho that's what makes signal a superior option to the others but because of these extreme choices I've seen the usage of signal gradually go down (might be wrong for the total number of users) around me. Now I don't anyone who uses signal anymore.

it's a real shame it's ridiculous to be using whatsapp but I have whatsapp installed on my phone not signal because that's what everyone uses.
