Middle, out

akwd169 , to Privacy in A tool for uploading/downloading files anonymously with client-side encryption

Send an email encrypted with PGP to your intended recipient (using their public key of course)

Anonymous email is possible and most places accepting anonymous tips/whistleblowing have an email address for that specifically

Alternatively I'm sure these same places can make an anonymous IM account like simpleX chat for example

There's plenty of ways really...

akwd169 , to Technology in I watched Nvidia's Computex 2024 keynote and it made my blood run cold

What about the climate impact? You didn't even address that. That's the worst part of the AI boom, were already way in the red for climate change, and this is going to accelerate the problem rather than slowing or stopping (let alone reversing it)

akwd169 , to Privacy in Google Leak Reveals Thousands of Privacy Incidents

I don't fully agree with you. It's certainly no major coverup but it's a heap of evidence that goes against this shiny veneer google maintains with the public

Google pretends they are champions of user privacy and protection to maintain trust and enable data collection on an unprecedented scale

When this article shows they are actually leaking private info left right and center, have the most nonchalant attitude towards respecting and maintaining our privacy and evidently 'keeping private info safe' (or should I say 'not being evil') is at the bottom of their priority list

akwd169 , to Privacy in Does VPNs even work against Big Brother apps? Using one really protects our privacy? (masking our location)

Then check out the reply by Zak in this thread

There are many many ways your being tracked by the apps and service you use

Unfortunately, a vpn is just the tip of the iceberg. It's a great first step but if you wanted to prevent your exact situation, I think only a phone running graphene OS would protect you in this instance since it isolates play services, among other privacy protecting features

akwd169 , to Memes in My GPU fans on the “Auto” setting

Lmao it's the first sentence of the video

Sorry I don't have time to watch the whole thing and didn't check it out beforehand

That's cool I hope it works

akwd169 , to Privacy in Does VPNs even work against Big Brother apps? Using one really protects our privacy? (masking our location)

On your phone? Or desktop?

akwd169 , to Memes in My GPU fans on the “Auto” setting

I was referring to my laptop so it's a bit different from a desktop

However with a desktop usually you have to use the software for your parts to control the fans

For example my GPU is gigabyte so I have to use their app for GPU fan control

My motherboard is MSI so I have to use their software for cpu fan and any case fans I attach to the motherboard

I haven't looked into it that much so I can't say for sure but I don't know of a way to controll all these fans from one place (unless they're allt he same brand)

akwd169 , to Memes in My GPU fans on the “Auto” setting

Lol this is my gaming laptop if I don't disable Intel Turbo boost

Meanwhile the fans are at like 15%

If I put the fans on full blast manually it sounds like a jet engine taking off

And the temps are still at 90+ and causing throttling lol

Thankfully there's throttlestop

akwd169 , to Technology in De-Google Your Life - Part 1

Check out my other comment on this thread for a quick breakdown of YouTube/piped/invidious/etc links

akwd169 , to Technology in De-Google Your Life - Part 1

I had a similar time with piped not working reliably, I prefer invidious, specifically iv.ggtyler.dev has pretty much always worked for me

Anyways, It's really easy to just swap for another instance or whatever

OP link is

https://piped.video/watch?v=YnSv8ylLfPw

Just take everything after the domain and TLD

(everything after "piped.video")

And slap it on the end of another instances domain and TLD

(For example iv.ggtyler.dev)

End result:

iv.ggtyler.dev/watch?v=YnSv8ylLfPw

It even works with YouTube:

youtube.com/watch?v=YnSv8ylLfPw

You can also just put the link into 12ft.io
