Mind you I am not saying Lemillion should have been given one for all. Just see that he should have been the main character. One for all could be a mcguffin for the heroes to keep out of the hands of the villains instead of using it like a cheat code.

I also dislike when the underdog genuinly starts off as an underdog and is just given a cheat code which is played off as "hard work and determination".

Like the main character of My Hero Academia. A person born without super powers in a world full of super heroes. You get excited at how he will overcome his limitations..... and the answer to that is be given the strongest power in that world and get even more super powers on top of that.

It is especially annoying how the surrounding characters act like it isn't a cheat code.

Funny thing is in that universe there is a character called Lemillion who had powers with drawbacks and had to learn to take advantage of them. A true underdog making the most of the cards he was dealth with. He should have been the MC of the show.

Let me fill you in. The article details how the games you own change. If you own a Zelda game and get this prosthetic it changes to a Tomb Raider game.

Ah wasn't aware of the ability to change assistants. I stand corrected!

Not sure what the surprise is. It is a device that needs you to sign into an account and have an internet connection. Ie it is just a dumb terminal. Kind of like how Alexa speakers are useless without an internet connection. All the processing is done on servers.

Even if it was not an android app, you probably could have made a clone of it since you are basically interacting with a web api.

In their defence the device has the advantage of giving you instant access to their ai through the touch of a button whilst on phones you would need to physically open the app as the "assistant" functionality is already reserved to Siri, Bixby, etc. EDIT: I wasn't aware you can change assistants.

Personally I like the concept if the processing was done within the device, but considering you need monster machines to run llms I guess we are least decades away from that reality.

The fact they chose india is probably for the low wages. So I wouldn't get my hopes up.

dmalteseknight , to Technology in Apple must open iPadOS to sideloading within 6 months, EU says
@dmalteseknight@programming.dev avatar

Speaking metaphorically they basically have to create "doors" for the hundreds of "walls" they made to originally prevent this.

I say "doors" since they will probably make them oddly shaped and hard to access to still make it difficult to allow you in.

dmalteseknight , to Technology in Discord is nuking Nintendo Switch emulator devs and their entire servers
@dmalteseknight@programming.dev avatar

I am guessing noone is suing discord for hosting these groups were Nintendo might be threatening a lawsuit for hosting these devs.

So not a matter of morals but self-preservation.

I think the main point of failure of sharing nudes is the human on the receiving end:

  • Vengeful ex partners
  • Partners that want to show you off
  • Partners with a monetary incentive
  • Partners that leave their devices unlocked or keep your nudes in an easily accessible location
dmalteseknight , to solarpunk memes in how can something be so courageous and yet so true
@dmalteseknight@programming.dev avatar

Well an argument against Apple products specifically is that they promote anti consumer trends.

Proprietary cables, unrepairable devices, having an ecosystem that is hostile to third party devices, popularising things like sealed batteries or removal of headphone jacks.

Apple actively is making the tech world worse imo.
