For me emulation is just a convenience thing.

I like to game on the go with a steam deck (720p60), and I don't want to carry around two handhelds

I've got the choice between one with pretty much every game I've ever bought, a nicer controller and more features, or one that has 2 games and doesn't even support Bluetooth headphones iirc, nor will it connect to any usb c dock that wasn't specifically designed for it

Resolution and performance is only one reason people want emulation

That's a horrible thing the British government have done

I'm not sure that's a good reason not to use the domain though, if we didn't use anything that horrible people had a hand in making we wouldn't be talking here right now

By living in the UK I am giving the British government money, there's not much I can do about that short of moving to another country

Unless the people who conquered that island and are keeping it conquered are also the ones directly responsible for the domain name?

And if they are are they really keeping that area under control just for the extension? Can't imagine it makes nearly enough money to pay for the military occupation there

Perhaps I just don't see why countries need their own extensions anyway (other than ones reserved for government websites to avoid scams, but at the point of being available for public use that kinda falls down)

Yeah that makes sense I suppose.

I still think for the vast majority of io websites I've seen they probably wouldn't clash with any companies that need portals in those regions

There's also a large amount of first come first served with domains regardless of what extension they're using though, if there's no legislation around who can use what extension I'm still not convinced it's that big a deal

    If you're using windows you're already giving Microsoft data so may as well

    Edge uses chromium not chrome, I would hazard a guess there's much less data harvesting going on in base chromium given it's open source and people can see exactly what they collect

    Not much you can't do from a gui, it works pretty reliably

    Most people myself included use commandline package managers though, so I'm not sure what state graphical interfaces on them are in right now

    I don't think there's any data Microsoft can get through you using edge that they can't also get just by controlling your OS

    Nothing at all stopping them from reading data from other browsers, as has been demonstrated by the whole stealing chrome tabs thing

    There are valid reasons to use windows and if you've gotta use it anyway they've already got your data from the start

    I have never once been to a dentist and had them clean my teeth.

    In the UK at least they have a look and a poke around, make sure you've not got any problems and send you on your way

    Right? Feel like the building of the raft would be a good way for people to process, wouldn't be that expensive cause you'd just be using wood and rope instead of a coffin and burial service
