Somebody who was previously active on the kbin codeberg repo has left that to make a fork of kbin called mbin....

Biden’s Threads posts can show up in Mastodon clients.
Looking at the front page of this forum and many others, leads me to conclude that kbin has a ridiculous spam problem....
Threads’ fediverse plans are coming together.

Lemmy instances by number of communities with over 1 thousand (5 thousands, 10 thousands) of monthly users:...
As the 2024 election approaches, the left-wing corporate media have lost all interest in President Biden’s frequent lies about his life and career. In the past, these journalists have paid brief attention to the one of President’s latest tall tales, but rarely have they ever bothered to revisit them when the moment has...
It's been a good time here on kbin.social. But the lack of perspective and communication has done it for me. I lost hope that the instance would heal eventually and will move to another place instead. Hope you're ok Ernest and all the best for the future.
Look at this fucking mess with these bots and lonely losers with too much time on their hand. They've all taken a dump on multiple instances and magazines....
Seems like an interesting effort. A developer is building an alternative Java-based backend to Lemmy’s Rust-based one, with the goal of building in a handful of different features. The dev is looking at using this compatibility to migrate their instance over to the new platform, while allowing the community to use their apps...

I forced myself to go back a little to Reddit recently. Because while I endorse and love the existence of the Fediverse, I can't in good conscience, tolerate the instability of it. Any other time I go somewhere, I'm met with a page that says KBin is working on resolving issues, then I go somewhere else and it's fine....
I've been recommended some communities on Lemmy servers, but when I go to kbin.social/m/community_name@server, I get a 404. What do I need to do for a community to get federated?
Are there any? Just like Odysee?
Let me know if there are any I should add....
Founder Eugen Rochko on helping Threads federate, dodging venture capital, and why he hopes Bluesky abandons its protocol
I'm truly very fascinated by Fediverse, but I only discovered it 2 weeks ago and that's why I'm devouring it and still have a lot of doubts. I research tutorials, save links and my main intention is to communicate with cool people to exchange good ideas!
Short-form video might in fact be the next frontier for federated media. The dev behind a popular photo-sharing platform is diving in headfirst.
There's a warning at the top, but I'm curious as to the "why". The comments that may or may not be visible seem to be a roll of the dice as well. If I respond to someone in a comment, I have no idea if they can see it.
The popular Reddit alternative's user count has grown a lot over the past year. One problem, though: users and admins can't delete images.
Is the fediverse GDPR-compliant? A horror story of uploading sensitive PII to lemmy and the numerous bugs that blocked its removal.
Hi all....
The fledgling Fediverse discovery hub takes a big step today, showcasing deeper integrations with Mastodon, and a developer API for communities.
