I’m all for this. There is basically nothing out there. When people think of the American desert, that’s it.

Tristaniopsis ,

I find it fascinating that this North American First Nations tribe chose to name themselves after the Australian derivative ‘Ute’ (for ‘utility vehicle’) which is basically is the same as a pick-up truck.

I mean I guess it’s better than calling yourselves ‘people mover’ or ‘station wagon’.

This post left me very confused for a good 30 seconds, why would a bunch of car enthusiasts install solar panels?
...
Oh

QuandaleDingle ,

I'm pretty sure that's a linguistic coincidence, they're a tribe that's been around for a long time. ☝️🤓

Grangle1 ,

Yes, because a Native American nation couldn't possibly have existed before the Australian version of pick-up trucks. If it's meant to be a joke, didn't quite land.

Kbobabob ,

I'm not sure if it's a joke either unless they had sport utility vehicles in.... 1897.

QuandaleDingle ,

XD good one

Tristaniopsis ,

No no, trucks, not land.

AA5B ,

Oh, it landed, just like Taylor Swift arriving at home

rbesfe ,

This particular tribe actually visited Australia thousands of years ago and borrowed a ute, they liked it so much they named themselves after it
