They never stopped. They only supported the California one because it still let them lock hardware and make money off it while appearing "good" in the meantime.

Of course they are. They'll spend hundreds of millions to make hundreds of millions. It doesn't matter if they break even or lose, as long as we lose too and they get to keep their monopoly.

Imo these companies are already way too big to not be called monopolies. Regulation is just a facade at this point.

Yeah I think at this point, they're protecting their brand's business model as it equates to their share price. As long as their business model is the exclusivity they've sold to their shareholders that allows them to justify sky high pricing, it's all or nothing for them. The second they back down and allow interoperability, they're toast as far as their shareholders are concerned. What a fucking joke.
