Cmon dude, we can read your history.

People are not calling you a Trump puppet because you criticise Biden. People are arguing with you because you think not voting is a solution that Democrats are actually affected by.

By not voting, you just ensure the person you want the least to be in office wins (Trump). There's plenty of shills trying to discourage people from voting with that rhetoric. Republicans only win when dems don't show up.

First all companies were afraid of giving access to these models, for trade secret issues and security. But then they basically all met at the white house to agree that they would make way more fucking money stealing it than they would pay in restitution or damages to people and small businesses.

Suddenly everybody had a chatbot and generated art ready for commercial sale. They also had to make the shift quickly enough before official laws and protections (mostly from the EU) came in.

Now AI is plateauing a bit so they must hurry to get valuated at 10 trillion dollars and get their energy needs subsidized and have taxpayers invest into the nation's energy requirements on their behalf.

RedditWanderer ,

I know how to opt out! I can opt out of buying a honda!

RedditWanderer ,

And like, why are people surprised it's only getting worse? Of course it is, we knew long ago the removal of 3rd party app was the beginning of the master plan to monetize our communities.

RedditWanderer ,

"Aerospace firm" is pretty generous. They're a defense contractor.

RedditWanderer ,

If there was hope, it must lie in the proles, because only there, in those swarming disregarded masses, eighty-five percent of the population of Oceania, could the force to destroy the Party ever be generated. The Party could not be overthrown from within. Its enemies, if it had any enemies, had no way of coming together or even of identifying one another. Even if the legendary Brotherhood existed, as just possibly it might, it was inconceivable that its members could ever assemble in larger numbers than twos and threes. Rebellion meant a look in the eyes, an inflection of the voice; at the most, an occasional whispered word. But the proles, if only they could somehow become conscious of their own strength, would have no need to conspire. They need only to rise up and shake themselves like a horse shaking off flies. If they chose they could blow the Party to pieces tomorrow morning. Surely sooner or later it must occur to them to do it.

RedditWanderer ,

Literally what he did with the cars. "If we don't put good technology in them we don't have to pay for anything!".

Same with Twitter.

RedditWanderer ,

All employers report income and deduct taxes from paychecks directly, so the government knows how much you have paid.

What they don't know is if you've won a lottery, sold a service or have someone bunking at your place paying rent. This you need to declare yourself.

In the UK the rule is: we will assume you have nothing else, please let us know if you have additional income

In the US (and Canada) the rule is: we will assume you have a lot of shit, please let us know even if you don't have additional income.

The US system stems from Conservatives having nothing other to run on than "people are going to grift and if you're an honest employed american you have nothing to worry about". Which is a measure that mostly affects the poor and those who don't know the law.

The same reason healthcare was tied to employers. They convince people nothing could go wrong because only those working should have healthcare. Which we can all see is insane but looks good on paper.

RedditWanderer ,

Betteridge's law of headlines: "Any headline that ends in a question mark can be answered by the word no.

RedditWanderer ,

No

RedditWanderer ,

Poorly made smart devices turn out to be the only investment choice we had.

FTFY. They do it on purpose

RedditWanderer ,

The only thing that matters is texas loses

RedditWanderer ,

That's how it should be.

But really that's what gets the other side to whine for when they'll leave the trailer park and become billionaires.

Even if we changed it to a fractiotof that it would still bring immense change. As long as it doesn't go to the military budget I guess

RedditWanderer ,

Sadly I have niche software and I'm a heavy gamer. But now it's becoming as much of a headache to deal with Windows threatening dumb upgrades that I might as well switch and fight with compatibility.

The more we do it, the more companies will be incentivised to make Linux work.

RedditWanderer ,

None of these PCs need to go to landfill. Linux

RedditWanderer ,

Eventually when Microsoft will go too far, this is what will happen. Companies already have to do all this training, and given the right OS and IT support there's plenty of Windows like solutions that would be immediately intuitive for people who just browse and use a few specific programs

RedditWanderer ,

This just in: broken clock is right twice a day.

A lot of Redditors hate the Reddit IPO | Reddit warned us that its users were a risk factor, and boy do they sound excited about shorting its stock. (www.theverge.com)

A lot of Redditors hate the Reddit IPO | Reddit warned us that its users were a risk factor, and boy do they sound excited about shorting its stock.::Reddit seems like a likely candidate for a meme stock. But the actual reaction suggests that r/WallStreetBets isn’t going to send the stock to the moon.

RedditWanderer ,

Leopards ate my face. They are acting like this is a new betrayal that needs stopping. These are the same people who were telling us the 3rd party app changes aren't a big deal.

RedditWanderer ,

Watch "storage" needs becoming s societal issue that will need taxpayer money because they store 1GB of data every time I look up how many pickles I should put in my hamburger. Assholes. They already consume an insane amount of energy.

RedditWanderer ,

Spez will be happy to know his payout is covered, company is still going to be broke though.

RedditWanderer ,

Just switch the input to another home media device and never use the built in stuff. We at least still have that.

RedditWanderer ,

These companies took the benefits and cheap loans to make record profits during the pandemic, and now that the party is over are dumping it on us and the system. They should never have been allowed in the first place and I hope they end up in court over this clear abuse of the system

RedditWanderer ,

Or really, he wanted to talk shit and pump and dump, and he got caught by some savvy lawyers at twitter.

Then he tried to turn it into a political tool sprinkled with his narcissism, hoping foreign governments would pay him to manipulate narratives. But now nobody gives a shit, he has lawsuits left and right and is likely going to go broke, and he's scared away all the advertisers who were his life blood.

He tried to pull a trump but nobody actually backed him up, and they're likely going to let him fall.

RedditWanderer ,

Lmao now the US is actually funding a tool Putin is using against the US.

Trump isn't even elected yet either.

OpenAI wants to raise 5-7 trillion dollars. Yes, Trillion (decrypt.co)

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman is in talks with investors, including from the United Arab Emirates, to raise between $5 trillion to $7 trillion in funding. The goal, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal, is to increase the world's chip manufacturing capacity and enhance AI capabilities....

RedditWanderer ,

Of course they are. They'll spend hundreds of millions to make hundreds of millions. It doesn't matter if they break even or lose, as long as we lose too and they get to keep their monopoly.

Imo these companies are already way too big to not be called monopolies. Regulation is just a facade at this point.

RedditWanderer ,

I really wouldn't mind the whole rhetoric of pulling yourself by the bootstraps if it wasn't rigged. The system is literally made to make ppl fail.

RedditWanderer ,

Pharmacy Benefit Managers and DIR Fees, explained humorously but it's true. What a time to be alive.

RedditWanderer ,

The point in the article isn't bad, but what he is forgetting is whatever version of Unity his engine depends on, will always be available. It's not actively being worked on really, unless you intended to update to a later release but most don't need to. Doesn't matter if Unity goes down, they will always have a product, they'll just get smaller and privatize which isn't a bad thing.

Unity made a gazillion dollars and wasted it all on acquisitions it had no business managing. They poofed a billion easy on those and people got extremely profitable payoffs and retirement plans. All this while they play is for fools.

As a Unity employee who was recently let go I know it's still a total shitshow, and we're all better off cutting our losses and not planning improvements on the Unity version of our games. At least Unreal isn't bleeding money and backtracking on a bad business model.

RedditWanderer ,

Yeah thats a chromecast plugin issue though, and an apple google one. You can play ricochet on steam still.

RedditWanderer ,

Yeah, for games. Ads for games on steam makes sense, you're literally browsing a shop. You won't see a random ad for a car or wtv on steam

RedditWanderer ,

Ok buddy, next youre going to tell me the stuff you see on the shelves in the store are ads lmao

RedditWanderer ,

This is AI generated right? The font is iron maden or ACDC. The ratio is square like a album cover, and it seems it put up as sign generated from parental advisories.

RedditWanderer ,

Yeah eating them will be more delicious..

RedditWanderer ,

It's your brain being confused. It hasn't gone to sleep yet but your muscles have. So the brain is like: yo leg, you dead? And fucking jolts it. Then he's like "woah no need to freak out. kk we good, we're going to sleep btw". And then you sleep.

In metric, one milliliter of water occupies one cubic centimeter, weighs one gram, and requires one calorie of energy to heat up by one degree centigrade—which is 1 percent of the difference between its freezing point and its boiling point. An amount of hydrogen weighing the same amount has exactly one mole of atoms in it. Whereas in the American system, the answer to ‘How much energy does it take to boil a room-temperature gallon of water?’ is ‘Go fuck yourself,’ because you can’t directly relate any of those quantities.
