So it was a fake root prompt which tricked the bots into believing that they logged in successfully but in reality the prompt could do nothing on the system?
What can you get to within a 15-minute walk of your house?
A recent YouGov survey asked Americans what they think they should be able to get to within a 15-minute walk of their house.
Of these choices, I can currently walk to all of them from my apartment, aside from a university (no biggie, I'm not currently studying, although there is a Tafe within walking distance), a hospital, and a sports arena.
How many can you get to with a 15 minute walk from your house?

Out here in rural Downtown Brooklyn we're gonna need a little extra time to get to a university, sports arena, or mall.
Or maybe Google just thinks I walk slow.
15 minutes isn't much time. I mean it probably takes a minute or two just to put on my coat and make sure I have my keys.
Just owning it says enough about one's personality for me to pass judgement. Same as people who wear camo, people who open-carry, and people who have a Trump sticker on their car.
I used Windows before and was against Linux because it felt too difficult to get into. That was before I upgraded to Windows 10 and found out that something or the other broke windows every 3 or 4 days. Linux is very easy to fix and doesn't break often in he first place, and as it turns out isn't even very hard to get into. I have much more confidence getting into server management software now that I switched to Linux and it has been immensely helpful in other cases too, especially with eh recent developments of WINE and Proton.
I've been buying these little boxes from AliExpress for years to use as firewalls and routers. My oldest one is almost 9 years old now! OpenBSD installs just fine. Just a BIOS tweak to always boot up after power is restored.
Openwrt works great for gigabit networks with simple firewall rules and no IPS. But used 10-56gbps enterprise equipment is getting pretty cheap, and more complicated firewall configurations need more powerful hardware than the typical openwrt router.
And 56gbps on a home LAN might be overkill, but that's not important.
@Shkshkshk@196 Suffice it to say that I suffered through over a decade of "bad classroom management", a lot of which went above and beyond mere attempts at containing screaming and crying... and meanwhile, the "teasers" (the teachers insisted that the verbal bullying be called "teasing") got away scot-free.
I ultimately dropped out of school because of the way the teachers treated me, even two years after they actually finally decided putting the bullies on notice was a worthwhile step.
Sure. The church was super reach in middle age, they collected taxes on everyone and their monasteries were working hard and were very efficient. Also people made a lot of donations in hope of staying out of hell
