While courts have ruled source code is first amendment protected. Your statement is still very very wrong. Just because it's first amendment protected doesn't mean it can't be classified normally or made illegal to leak because of ITAR.

But go leak some of the source code from XKeyscore or a schematic of a pair of GPNVG if you'd like to test our code classification and ITAR systems.

Okay but that has no relevance at all to what the comment you were replying to was about. Companies contracted by the government and DOD specifically to create rockets are guaranteed to be covered by ITAR. Meaning open sourcing them would be impossible, regardless of the first amendment or anything else.

There's a massive massive difference between the software for a DOD contracted rocket like SpaceX makes, and hobbyist rocketry.

I mean you can totally vote for whoever you want, and I'd wish we had some more competition in the party system, but first past the post makes that incredibly hard.

For example, it took a couple decades of the labor party fighting for control with the liberal party in the UK for it to be established as the main left of center party. In the meantime they split their elections.

I don't think we're in the position to do that right now with the republican party being what it is, not to mention that several parties have tried for the past century and gotten nowhere as close as to the presidency as Bernie did in the primary.

Ehhh even with the shit they pulled on Bernie I still think reorienting the party is the right strategy.

The Democratic Party has been pulled from a segregationist position to the champions of civil rights in Congress once before, they've also been pulled away from business interests before.

So I think it's definitely possible to grow a socialist wing inside the Democratic party, I mean we've ready seen better gains in the past decade in Congress than in the past century of third parties trying to gain a foothold.

This is just blatantly false, if an organization is committing crimes or doing something the government dislikes then the government will sanction it, like it has done with almost every Russian Oligarch's business, or front businesses for terrorist groups.

I'm pretty sure the whole point of banning TikTok is that the government is alleging that TikTok has engaged/can be forced to engage in abusive or illegal practices.

One, it's stupid to group together groups so massive as "Liberals" and "Leftists" and then describe each of them as having any sort of cohesive opinion on massive foreign policy issues such as this.

Two, why would you blame the Liberals for the war in Gaza? There's by far more of them in congress calling for humanitarian support and a ceasefire than there are even "Justice Dem" or DSA members in Congress. Just from that alone, the Liberals are doing more to end this war than any of us leftists protesting on the street.

Three, if the bike falls over, it's gonna be because some leftists were too preoccupied with America being evil that they refused to engage in harm reduction, and subsequently let every bit of fascism that they're complaining about existing in Israel to come home with Trump.

You still don't seem to get it, every vote for a third party, is one more vote that Biden has to overcome to get to the majority, Trump doesn't need to bother with this as his personality cult seemingly won't fracture, thereby every third party vote fucks Biden over just a little bit more.

Now this isn't directly adding to Trump's total, but it's fucking Biden by decreasing his, and anything that fucks over Biden will objectively help Trump.
