I use Tailscale for it. Install it on your server, give partner access and she can add stuff to your .arr's from anywhere. Simple and free.

It’s a fair response. Some uf us aren’t flush with time.

I’d survive SSH for installing Portainer and then you can run most of it from its GUI. If you use Docker Compose it will be super easy to make changes to your setup as well. Just change the file and redeploy your badboys.

I’m a recent dad absolutely strapped for time, but I still managed to set up a headless Debian server with close to zero Linux knowledge. There are so many amazing guides out there, especially on GitHub.

Oof, my MSI 1080 died after allmost six years of service.
My first hardware death in 20 years of building my own systems, other than a drive.
Can’t blame them for it. It truly did its job, so I went with them again for my 3080.

We literally bought a fridge three days ago and it drove me bloody mad.

The numbers mean absolutely nothing!!!
And why is the Siemens version cheaper than the Bosch version of the same fridge, and why aren't they named something even remotely similar????
Why is this identical fridge $400 more???
(Ended up contacting Bosch to figure it out. It was a damn soft close function. For $400...)

Ended up going to the store and picking one based on physical testing because God forbid any retailer add anything more than a short text on each product.

Hope this one lasts us 50 years so I never have to buy another fridge again!

That is correct, and EV's are equally dependant on the 12V battery as ICE vehicles

This is just plain wrong.
We have two EV's in Norway (cold as fuck at times) and there is no way to manage the same range in winter as in summer.
Sure you can mitigate some of it by preheating both the cabin and the battery, but the heater working harder to maintain the temperature when it's cold outside and the added friction of driving on snow is always going to be there

Yes it does. You car (almost all EVs) slowly precondition the battery while driving. Many newer cars optimize the battery temperature when you add a charger to your navigation to have the optimal temperature once you reach it. If you know you need to rapid charge and the drive is short, it's usually a good idea to add it to your navigation as the car will then maximize the heating/cooling before you get there, whereas with normal driving it would do this slowly to minimize drain.

I had to rapid charge with a frozen battery once. Not a fun experience.

AFAIK Minnesota does get proper winter cold, so it's just a bit surprising.

I've had both petrol and diesel cars not start on me when it's cold enough.
Diesel probably didn't want to go because of old glow plugs and on the petrol I had somehow managed to get a bit of water in the tank that froze in the line.
