Pi-hole blocks ads served by these networks just fine. Never seen an ad in Boost for Lemmy or for Reddit, though I tend to use Jerboa now that I've gotten used to it while I was waiting for Boost for Lemmy to release.

DNS based adblocking like Pihole or Adguard limits you to receiving advertising hosted by the app provider (youtube for example) which is usually better curated than third party advertising networks and less commonly found at all.

While this seems like a great plan; I wouldn't put it past manufacturers to throw an error message and disable the vehicle for 'safety' when it detects a missing network connection for an extended period and/or disabled hardware during self-test.

I hate this dystopian hellscape :(

'speed of sound' is clearly an exaggeration...

MRI machines have some pretty powerful magnets, but they still won't accelerate anything to the speed of sound, let alone an object held reasonably securely and only within the space of ~12 inches.

It's not a particularly large or sharp object; I could see it being pulled through the inside of a chest cavity mostly pushing stuff out of the way. Definitely 'major injuries' though.

whatever resolution I went out of my way to download.

Addon Radarr, Sonarr, and Ombi and you won't even have to do that.

Users make requests via Ombi, those get sent to Radarr/Sonarr to search for and download. Most stuff is ready to watch ~15min after requesting, with no interaction from the servers admin needed. (optionally, requests can require approval before downloading, that's disabled for the users I trust)

I wonder how fast they re-grow.

That could get out of hand in a hurry, if he just stood there taking it....

Plex isn't hosting the illegal content and that which they are hosting they properly license. Plex in particular is pushimg harder and harder to host content for you, instead of you hosting your own.

Officially, the 'personal media server' side of things is for sharing home videos/pictures, not commercialized content. (this applies to Plex, Emby, and Jellyfin)

It's the users/server operators responsibly to have the correct licensing for whatever they are hosting to others.

That's part of the problem; they aren't charging you for the install, they are remotely tracking that you've done so and then billing the dev for it.

If you grab a cracked version, did the person cracking that game also remove the install telemetry, or did they just make it functional? Can you be sure?

In many cases, the dev would still be billed for you installing the game you didn't even pay for. Unity has no incentive to ensure each install is legitimate, as they profit from failing to catch that.
