KpntAutismus ,

yeah, replay value isn't that great, but playing through all of the scenarios takes a decent amount of time.

KpntAutismus ,

100%. was late to the party with the first game, only got it a few months ago.

but the city must survive!

KpntAutismus ,

yup, noticed that revanced wasn't working a week ago.

went into revanced manager, patched the recommended version, installed gmscore, done.

suck it youtube, i'm not paying a subscription to watch low effort vtuber edits.

KpntAutismus ,

yeah, on android it's kind of a pain. but being able to use extensions is insanely good.

KpntAutismus ,

ex-GX user here. i do not miss chrome.

KpntAutismus ,

you and my dad both. he's been using it forever

KpntAutismus ,

FP4 user here. while that is true, any android ROM with google services on it isn't privacy-focused.

but i don't want to miss out on clash of clans, so here i am using their bullshit spyware.

KpntAutismus ,

recently reinstalled win10 pro, located in europe using a local account.

haven't seen any yet.

KpntAutismus ,

they really are trying to fuck themselves over, aren't they?

i'm gonna switch as soon as game devs realize linux needs anticheat support.

and i know a lot of people who don't care what operating system they run as long as they can use their web browser on it.

KpntAutismus ,

everything that isn't my main machine runs linux. my old laptop from 10 years ago, a PC made of my old rig's parts i use as a NAS and jellyfin server, and i almost got my brother to install linux on his thinkpad.

A German state is ditching Windows and Microsoft Office for Linux and LibreOffice on the 30,000 PCs it uses for local government functions (www.theregister.com)

Schleswig-Holstein, Germany's most northern state, is starting its switch from Microsoft Office to LibreOffice, and is planning to move from Windows to Linux on the 30,000 PCs it uses for local government functions....

KpntAutismus ,

Watashi ni Tenshi ga Maiorita

has slight pedo vibes tho.

KpntAutismus ,

maybe they have it mapped to enter, you never know with laptop linux users.

KpntAutismus ,

brother certainly has a good reputation, but i've been using an epson ecotank for a couple years now.

once the 18000 page self-brick counter goes off, i'll try to reset it. if that doesn't work, i'll definetely try getting a brother laser printer. i print B&W most of the time anyways.

KpntAutismus ,

i our household it definetely is. selling stuff on ebay or returning packages is most of what we use it for, and 200-300€ plus 10-20€ in ink bottles every year or so will eventually be cheaper too.

not saying you have to buy one for yourself, it's just worth the money for many people.

KpntAutismus ,

i played a match and i don't get it, that game is just boring.

how do people actually play this?

i have colleagues who gush over how they want everyone else to play it.

it's just so... stale

KpntAutismus ,

some bands, and their fans. you can make a cassette look pretty dope.

and i've heard prisoners often only have access to cassettes.

KpntAutismus ,

my dad has a huge collection of CDs he started in the 80s. and he's not gonna stop buying every single CD that his favourite bands release.

he rips them onto his ipod and his phone. great way to efficiently own music and get some pretty cool artwork.

so from what i can tell, no one (that i know of) buys CDs to play them out of a playback device, just to own your library.

KpntAutismus ,

yup, sadly many of the bands/artists i listen to don't really offer their music as physicals, but there's also no way i'm gonna spend 20 bucks on an album just to listen to like 3 of the songs ever.

i have a weird way of listening to music.

KpntAutismus ,

i daily a Fairphone 4, has neither the best camera nor the best battery life. but it's the most repairable and durable phone i've owned.

i've had extremely good experieces with oneplus phones, dunno about custom ROM support though.

i've also heard good things about modern motorola phones, if the ROM support is there it's worth a shot imo.

KpntAutismus ,

Fairphone 4 user here, i love it. but ghost touch keeps coming back, i'm on my second screen now.

KpntAutismus ,

i second getting a fairphone, but look into a second battery or a power bank for heavy use.

KpntAutismus ,

they'll send you a replacement, but they take weeks to reply

KpntAutismus ,

there's still two left over in our household. while one is really heavy but manageable, the other one hasn't been moved in years. probably for the best.

KpntAutismus ,
KpntAutismus ,

i just had a look at popular japanese first names for males, and this one jumped out at me since it can be spoken as "cookie"

KpntAutismus ,

K swapped gokart, probably.

KpntAutismus ,

installing linux on your pc is like 1UZ-swapping a miata (highly advanced toyotapilled car guy joke btw)

KpntAutismus ,

which is what apple is doing in the education field in germany currently. almost giving ipads away to schools and large companies with a lot of apprentices.

the only problem is they gave apple products to future electronics technicians. we all hate them (except for the few apple fanboys).

an ipad is basically a regular tablet with a fancy-pants processor that you will never use to its full potential, horrible battery life, made out of expensive materials, with the most locked down OS ever.

i've actually had to use my personal phone for work stuff that the ipad was just too locked down to do.

KpntAutismus ,

same, haven't strayed from standard firefox since it does what i want just fine.

KpntAutismus ,

like the US military. most of their mission critical stuff has been running for 20 years that way.

if only there were an operating system that could update without shutting down.

KpntAutismus ,

i've since made a more professional e-mail, but everything remotely to do with personal stuff uses the adress i made when i was 10.

KpntAutismus ,

it did warn him to be fair. he had to type out "yes, do as i say", which is a HUGE red flag. even to me, a farely casual windows user.

KpntAutismus ,

i think chromebooks don't get counted as linux, i may be wrong though

KpntAutismus ,

android is based on a modified linux kernel, but boesn't have much else in common.

KpntAutismus ,

i wish that still existed, there's conversions for some modern cars, but it has basically vanished.

welp, gotta stock up on spare parts for my little nugget i guess...

Apple (slrpnk.net)

I don't care if anyone has a Xiaomi, Oneplus, Samsung, etc. Each brand is using a modified version of Android, and they chose to be compatible with each other. But for example the "blue vs green bubble" drama is a thing specifically because of Apple locking their unsuspecting users into a closed ecosystem. And it sure isn't...

KpntAutismus ,

i feel you, the fairphone 4 works well enough for me though. a lot of software/hardware bugs are yet to be ironed out fully, but fairphones are steadily getting better.

although the 6th gen needs to improve a lot, the 5's launch was disappointing to say the least.

KpntAutismus ,

My FP4 was affected by the "ghost touch" hardware bug, i ended up getting a replacement screen after contacting support. (it never fully went away, it has a few spasms every once in a while)

also the crashing while connected to 5G put me in a few pickles. sometimes when receiving a call while watching youtube the call's notification bubble will take up to 5 seconds to appear at all.

it seems to also ocasionally forget that it has a SIM card installed, though that sim has been in use for 10+ years, so i can't say if that's the Fairphones's fault.

KpntAutismus ,

i love how in the german version of her wikipedia article her being trans is just a stone cold footnote at the bottom of the first section.

like "oh yeah, i guess she's trans too"

KpntAutismus ,

unrelated, but my dad's iphone SE (1st gen) used to almost burn the house to the ground when playing hill climb racing.

closed source, but i've been a loyal user since the reddit days.

    KpntAutismus ,

that's what being close-source does. jellyfin works great, use it every day.

    KpntAutismus ,

they started manufacturing a specific model in the EU, though much more expensive.

    KpntAutismus ,

i carry an emergemcy audio adpater ony keychain now, thanks fairphone.

also, two of the 4 audio adapters i have are starting to break down, forcing me to buy new ones. real sustainable you guys

and yes, the one fairphone sells is one of the broken ones.

    KpntAutismus ,

If you don't have one already, it could be turned into a linux-based input device for your TV.

    KpntAutismus ,

beyerdynamic headphones are made in germany, highly recommend.
