KuroeNekoDemon OP , to Memes in Yeah I tried to access the app and checked downdetector it's down

Fedora Linux IT support for obscure things that break and other Linux and Windows subs because I kinda like to see what boneheaded mistake Microsoft will make next

KuroeNekoDemon OP , (edited ) to Memes in Yeah I tried to access the app and checked downdetector it's down

Same because the Fedora Linux subbreddit helps a lot for general odd stuff that happens

KuroeNekoDemon , to linuxmemes in I feel like I'm using this template too much

Same except that was my server (Fedora 40 Beta). I nuked it and installed Ubuntu Server on it and reinstalled everything. Works but man bad timing as I'm moving out in a month

KuroeNekoDemon , to linuxmemes in Arch with XZ

As fresh as the CISA will allow it!

KuroeNekoDemon OP , to linuxmemes in Don't forget to add sudo for maximum performance

So would it be funny if I made a meme like this except it was with the trojan horse meme template? I kinda want to

KuroeNekoDemon OP , to linuxmemes in Don't forget to add sudo for maximum performance

I still remember that video I watched where a line in the Steam code back in the day was titled SCARY!!!!! and it was rm -rf $STEAMROOT. This nuked a guy's computer because short answer $STEAMROOT was actually / root, long answer here's the video. This nuked both his PC and his external drive that is some pretty bad code but this JavaScript code is up there

KuroeNekoDemon , to linuxmemes in Sell it cheap, we appreciate.

All I see is more Linux Servers and PCs to try Arch and Gentoo on over my Fedora desktop that I use because I need a good balance of stability and up to date software

KuroeNekoDemon , to Technology in Microsoft's draconian Windows 11 restrictions will send an estimated 240 million PCs to the landfill when Windows 10 hits end of life in 2025

Fun fact whenever I go back to my parents place I still see their old Windows 7 desktop alive and well for over 10 years and they don't care it just works

As someone with ADHD this is exactly what happened to me when I switched to Linux. Continues to keep me occupied 3 months later

KuroeNekoDemon , (edited ) to linuxmemes in That's LTT in the bottom

Linux: You can mostly stick to the GUI to install software, touch the terminal for obscure/command line applications and install GPU drivers and you have a functioning system

Windows: Forced to go into regedit and services.msc to fix high resource usage on a fresh install, debloat scripts to remove bloat on Windows and need to update system, scower the internet for drivers and all the software you need

I can see why I got fed up very fast trying to use Windows 11 in QEMU tbh...never trying that shitshow again...

Edit the only packages I had to install through Bash are: Neofetch, Htop, OpenSeeFace, Brave Browser, Wine, Nvidia drivers and ProtonVPN. Linux is very user friendly imo

KuroeNekoDemon , to Memes in Chat Apps

Wait you guys use Signal? Idk a single Canadian that uses it we all use Discord, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, Telegram, WeChat, and Snapchat depending on the person. The reason why I put WeChat there because I had to use it in university because at the time we had a lot of Chinese international students so had no choice

KuroeNekoDemon , to linuxmemes in So many things I'd rather do than go back to Windows

I hated Windows 11 because:

  • Constant Telemetry
  • Hogs resources. Examples include: Using 1/3 of my 1TB SSD and 1/2 of 16GB of DDR5 RAM
  • Tons of vulnerabilities, several that remain unaddressed
  • Forced updates
  • The UI and start menu is hideous, search immediately searches Bing instead of my system for an app

I love Fedora 39 because:

  • No telemetry, optional anonymous bug reporting
  • Uses only 50GB of my 1TB SSD and 1.6GB of 16GB of DDR5 RAM on the OS plus GNOME
  • Vulnerabilities continue to be patched through kernel updates (currently up to 6.7.7 on Fedora)
  • I get to choose when to update my system
  • I like my riced UI, the application menu is clean and search searches for apps on my system first with perfect accuracy

Did I prove my point?

KuroeNekoDemon , to Technology in Vending machine error reveals secret face image database of college students

Yeah but this is the University of Waterloo we're talking about here. This hit Canadian mainstream media CTV News so I know that. Also for an university specializing in Engineering and Mathematics there's a shit ton of cameras around

KuroeNekoDemon , to Technology in Vending machine error reveals secret face image database of college students

Time to hack the vending machine snd delete all the partitions off of it and render it unusable

KuroeNekoDemon OP , to linuxmemes in I'm joining the Wayland club on Nvidia

I get 1080p 120fps consistently with my RTX 3050 Mobile and high refresh rates
