Being selfish is hetero normative? I'm probably being defensive but this feels like a weird statement to make.

Autonomous cars really will be a fucking nightmare for traffic and I don't think people understand this. Traffic is one of the biggest reducers of car trips, it's why induced demand is a thing. People avoid trips if they don't want to deal with the traffic and people pay for expensive parking to avoid driving around looking for a cheap spot.

Autonomous cars would enable so many trips that would otherwise be avoided. Don't want to look for parking? Your car will do it. Don't want to sit in traffic for 30 mins to get to the grocery store? You can watch youtube while your car drives you. Don't want to take your kid to a friends house? The car will drive them.

EVs are not going to solve climate change and autonomous cars are not going to fix traffic. These problems are only solved by reducing car dependency and the faster people suck it up and accept that the faster we actually start working on solutions instead of tech bro nonsense that only solves the problem of how to concentrate even more wealth in the 0.1%.

Drones are loud as fuck and have a host of other issues. People will fucking riot if they have to start listening to drones fly around all day.

An eco friendly option that actually makes sense is cargo bikes. Even land based drone delivery makes more sense than flying drones. This shit is probably never happening.

I've done the same, favourite songs are overrated imo. My 'favourite songs' change all the time and half the time I'm just picking a relatively obscure song that I like atm. It sounds way cooler if I say my favourite radiohead song is Kid A instead of Karma Police.

Speed running is like a time trial race combined with an open ended puzzle, but everyone is on the same team. People map the fastest route they can come up with and then try and execute that route as fast as possible. It's 90% for the challenge and 10% for the personal glory (obviously this varies). Many people who are uninterested in executing routes will spend time theorycrafting new routes, learning everything they can about the game in order to find new techniques that they share with others. This creates a community in which everyone is working together to beat the game as fast as possible, encouraging and competing with each other.

Speed running only seems pointless if you've never challenged yourself purely for the fun of it, or taken up a hobby in order to meet people.

Fuck Nintendo. I paid full price for BotW late last year, $100 fucking dollars for a six year old game. I wasn't happy about it but whatever, greatest game ever right? What could go wrong? Turns out BotW is a mid game at best and I got bored before my trip ended.

This is so far from the truth I just have to assume you're making a "joke" and not an apple hater who's too fanatical to form their own opinions.

The vision costs a shit load of money because they've put an abundance technology and R&D into the product to make it capable of things no other VR/AR headset is capable of. By all accounts the screen resolution, response rate, 3D tracking, and gesture recognition create an experience that other headsets can attempt to mimic but will fall short of. Watch MKBHD's videos on it, it's genuinely a really impressive piece of technology.

And yes, they charge more because they are Apple and they know their hoards of loyal followers will buy anything they make.

My advice is to read the simple path to wealth. I listened to the audiobook, its short and sweet and entertaining.

The gist: Nobody consistently beats the stock market (not even the people being paid to do so), don't try, it's gambling. Buy index ETFs when you have extra and hold on to them until you retire. Don't time the market, dont overthink it. Buy and forget. There's a part of the book where he says that the best group of investors were dead people and the second best were people who forgot about their investments. Idk if it's true but it stuck with me.

Spend a few hours learning about tax differed savings accounts or whatever your country offers and take advantage of them.

In my experience, being investing intelligently is really fucking easy and really fucking boring.

Oftentimes people who obsess over crunching numbers and doing lots of research, will rarely make more than if they just bought index funds.

I'm pretty sure like 95% of people who are paid to beat the market perform worse than index funds over any period greater than 5 years. I'm procrastinating at work so I'm going to be one of those annoying people that tell you to go research it yourself, but ya. From everything I've heard essentially nobody beats the market over long periods of time, it's a losing battle. Just buy index funds and wait.

It's boring but it's the smartest thing to do.
