Do you think people would be okay with 'Recall' if Apple did it?

With the recent WWDC apple made some bold claims about privacy when it comes to so called Apple Intelligence. This makes me wonder if they did something to what Microsoft did with Recall feature, would people be less concerned and to an extend praise their effort?...

I mean the emancipation proclamation didn't ban slavery, it just banned it in rebelling states by freeing the slaves in those states. It was a year/years later that the 21(?) 13th Amendment was signed that actually banned the practice.

Lincoln didn't want to free the slaves, he just didn't want the south using them as an army.

The civil war was started over the economics of slavery, not the cancellation of slavery. The south wanted slaves to count towards votes, but not count towards taxes owed. The north refused to allow that, and they decided that slaves didn't count towards either. And since without slaves the southern states had much lower populations, that dramatically diminished their voting power. That is why the civil war started.

What's the doct? And yeah, the south feared the dissolution of slavery but from my understanding that was not what it was about for the north. Hence the 3/5ths compromise.

I mean I don't see why we can't fix the economy and the climate and politics all in one fell swoop.

1% control the wealth, and through that wealth they control politics, and they gained that wealth by exploiting the economy. Repossess everything that was gained through exploitative means and redistribute that to the working class. The politicians no longer get lobbied unless the masses want a program. People now have the wealth and financial security to pursue education. Educated people vote to fix the climate.

Problem solved. Eat the rich. It would be nice if it could be done peacefully, but if not then the working class has to employ more forceful measures. I'm not advocating violence(because that's against TOS), but I am saying that if you truly care about anything around you, then you should fix the one problem causing all of it.

Also, he was harvesting dog bile for making medicine and had a factory where he pumped dog bile out of hundreds of thousands(edit:sources differ, at least 35 and maybe up to 2000) of dogs that he was starving. He couldn't feed them because that would taint the bile, and they wouldn't produce as much because, y'know, they're not starving. When they died about a week after he got them, he would simply replace them.

I don't see the problem with attempting to replicate it, so long as you are informed that (as far as we now know) the experiment will not go the way it was intended. But you might learn something new, or find out that in specific circumstances, it actually does work.

While I agree wholeheartedly, that is unrealistic due to laws. You can't reveal certain suspects identity because for certain crimes, like pedophilia, people will attempt to execute the suspect before they know whether or not they actually did it.

If you've ever put a photo online or been in the background of someone else's photos, then you already have your likeness available. With the ease of making deep fakes, there's no way to stop people from abusing it, so there's only a couple ways it can go.

  1. Govt tries to ban deep fakes. This will effectively boil down to making math illegal because the govt is notoriously bad at handling tech laws, and all current AI is is algorithms.

  2. Nothing changes, eventually people realize they need to actually do their research because everything online is fake.

  3. Everyone shuts their brain completely off and assumes everything they see is real. Honestly, this might have the upside of putting an end to celebrity culture because the more exposure you have, the more likely someone is to ruin your reputation.
