Well that's disappointing. Kinda seems like NYC is double dipping on fees then. Congestion pricing is a sensible thing to do, but it seems the way NYC is implementing is fairly inconsiderate and slightly opportunistic. Especially with the way its handling low income drivers. It should also scale up for higher income drivers.

Think they could use the fees to subsidize public transit in and out of the city? I'd imagine most of the car traffic is people entering Manhattan from out of NYC or leaving it, so it would be nice if they further incentivized that by making the PATH, LIRR or NJT cheaper, but that may be interstate commerce.

I generally support this, but I think Murphy's comments are sensible here, though, maybe not the lawsuit that's causing issues.

The MTA would give a credit to drivers paying tolls for the Lincoln, Holland and Queens-Midtown tunnels and the Hugh L. Carey bypass to the financial district from Brooklyn, also known as the Brooklyn–Battery Tunnel.

So, would people taking one of these have their toll applied to the congestion fee? I'm a little unclear on that. The GW isn't listed there, but I suppose that's sensible since it drops ya out north of 60th.

They're both too old and out of touch. It's an embarrassment that either of these candidates are "the best we got".

  2. once you leave the state of baby behind, there is a new world of technique available for you to explore, and it's creating spicier and spicier food without destroying flavor. It's an art and few chefs I've seen can do it. Anyone can throw in bhut jolokia and say "it's incredibly spicy now" but it takes skill to carefully balance and blend that flavor into their dish such that it accentuates and enhances the other flavors while still making your nose run and eyes water.

There's a Thai place by me that can do this (not with pad thai, though, with green curries), and I've eaten at an Indian restaurant in St. Louis capable of this, too.

It's a transcendent experience, merging flavor, pain and pleasure into a potent concoction that opens the sinuses and the doors of perception.

Edit: it's also totally okay to be baby, don't force yourself to try things you know only hurt you.

Also, pure capsaicin, using capsaicin extract, that always sucks. You gotta show off the unique flavor of the pepper itself. That's the expertise.

Lmao fuck I was confused by the responses too as I had been assuming hard boiled eggs.

Tho I do Crack raw eggs on the counter then into a bowl with one hand, checking for blood spots. With a little practice, it's quick and easy.

Smack em on the counter on the top and bottom, then roll em on the counter, pressing firmly with the palm to make a ton of little cracks. They'll peel easily under water now no issue.
