I don't have an EV, but I'd like an electric mid-sized utility truck that has physical controls, a good radio, and some thought given to durability and repair concerns. As long as they're all cars or trucks with touch screens and remote software updates, I'm not interested.

Are there any genuine benefits to AI?

I can see some minor benefits - I use it for the odd bit of mundane writing and some of the image creation stuff is interesting,, and I knew that a lot of people use it for coding etc - but mostly it seems to be about making more cash for corporations and stuffing the internet with bots and fake content. Am I missing something...

My partner and I have founded a company that uses custom AI models trained on research to (partially) automate the process of peer review and replication. We can identify mistakes and some types of fraud in research to aid reviewers as well as extract methods and equations from papers and automatically verify findings. If you know anything about the state of research right now, those are some incredibly large benefits.

I used to have a power shell script that a coworker gave me that would uninstall a huge number of services and apps on windows, change a bunch of config settings etc.

I've always wished there were a way to roll out a stripped windows release as an open source project without getting sued.

I don't think I've ever met or heard of anyone literally claiming that kids are identifying as helicopters. The "I identify as an attack helicopter" thing was originally used as an absurdist critique of gender identity, not as a serious claim, if I remember correctly.

Edit: Also, there was a pretty good sci-fi short story that took the idea seriously.
