Sam Altman

Everything he touches tends to inevitably turn to shit. This guy and his fellow silicon valley cronies are scum of the earth

No

fossphi , to linuxmemes in I'm writing this from a crappy laptop with 2GB of RAM and a dull screen.

I 100% agree. But, where Linux?

fossphi , to 196 in King Rulezard

Ooh boy! Prog is one of my favourite genre, too. Just start with Polygondwanaland then, it's their most proggy album.

They have so many varied albums, I will list a few which I like. You can also use this website to guide you through and explore their discography, https://www.get-into-gizz.com/

I also really recommend Nonagon Infinity, and Ice, Death, Planets, Lungs, Mushrooms and Lava for some amazing psychedelic/rock. And some of the microtonal albums (Flying Microtonal Banana). A lot of people are not very much fans of the slower/more chill albums, but Butterfly 3000 is one of my favourite albums from them. Omnium Gatherum's first three tracks are worth listening, too

Apart from these, Infest the Rats Nest is an absolute banger of a thrash metal album.

It's such a sadness, it was so useful and (kinda) decently organised. I don't wanna go looking to shady telegram groups and stuff. And they're not indexable by search engines!

fossphi , to Privacy in Free Software Webmail Systems (fsf recommended email providers)

I really don't think so.

For the sake of simplicity, let's go back to the time when websites were not full of JS and other modern web stuff

You could in principle just wget the html file from a server and parse/render it without having to run that file. Like I said, it is like a simple markdown file.

In terms of modern web, a crude analogy would be to look at the output from static site generators. In those, the server essentially doesn't execute code, hence a lot of cloud providers can host your static sites for free
