XMPP doesn't have link previews or posting, photo albums, even the idea of a picture with caption text us foreign. No comment reaction, retraction or replies. Inline video or video stream, lol no, even gifs don't work. Talking or video chat ? Not even in your dreams.
No wonder the youths hang out on discord

Thanks, I told the ios users to give monal a try. One responded it didn't work last time he tried. I will try the android app.

I think the most annoying is tge lack of opengraph support, bot or server side if it has to be. But no url preview suuuuuucks

I used to be a gentoo user in the 00s. Recently came bsck to linux and I find tge popularity of gentoo died down as fast as arch became popular.

Why does arch exist ? Is it like, gentoo but with a binary cache ? Can you automatically build everything from source still ? Is there something equivalent to use flags .

Is there anything akin to use flags ? Suppose there's a package you need to enable sonething not enabled by default, how painful is that ?
