Nope. Plenty of places in the midwest only carry unsweet and "flavored", not regular sweet tea. The flavor is usually extra sweet fruit flavored syrup like raspberry or peach.

I dunno, I feel like it's mostly just people being people. We have a truck and a sporty little hatchback and people are just as apt to drive like assholes around both cars, despite my husband and I both also being the "drive just enough above the speed limit that we probably won't get a ticket" drivers, and otherwise adhering almost exactly to road laws the way only mildly obsessive neurodivergents can. I think people either just don't know road laws or don't care about them and get pissed when other people do and "impede" their oh-so-important trip.

As a massive tea drinker... I don't think I've ever seen PG Tips or YG in the grocery store. I have to order them online. The best we get in store near me is Bigelow and Tazo, both of which are pretty mid.

Get an electric kettle. Tea should be brewed at an appropriate temperature for its style, and microwaving the water is inaccurate. Electric kettle will get you the right temp every time nearly as fast.

... No? 212° F water is not the same thing as 170°F for a more delicate tea. And, ok, you could let it cool down before adding the tea, but are you going to put a thermometer in it? How will you know when it's the right temperature? Why not just... get it to the right temperature the first time?

🤷🏻‍♀️ Needlessly aggressive but ok. I use my electric kettle once a day minimum and I use it for things other than tea as well. My husband uses it for his French press coffee, we use it for hot choccy or ramen or even rice sometimes. It's just an easier way to heat up water to specific temperatures, no elitism here.

You know, I really, really think you're reading something into this that isn't there. What, exactly, strikes you as hate here? What in this meme is "demonizing language"? It's a joke pointing out that privileged people tend to panic and lash out when the people who have historically had fewer privileges than them start receiving help to level the playing field, as if life is some kind of zero-sum game and others being treated better suddenly means they'll get treated worse. This is a well-recognized truth that applies broadly across privileged populations and has been remarked upon by many people through the years of building civil liberties for minorities of all stripes, and this meme is just poking a bit of fun at it. No one thinks that literally every single cishet white dude is panicking that they'll be up against the wall if minorities ask to be treated better. I'm really confused at your apparently visceral reaction against this so-called "hate".

They're not being made fun of for being white cishet men. They're being made fun of for being privileged and whinging about other people now receiving the rights to which they felt they alone were entitled. Being privileged is not something you are born with, it is something granted to you by an unjust society. Crying about others being granted rights as if it will affect them negatively is a choice they are making. This is not about them being cishet white dudes. It is about them choosing to resist progress because it might mean they don't get treated like the super special kiddies our society has always treated them as.

That you are equating "haha these privileged people are overreacting to minorities no longer having boots on their necks" with "boo hoo, you're saying all white cishet dudes are bad" tells me all I need to know. I won't be able to change your mind, so have fun feeling persecuted 💜

I mean, I'm sorry, but if they believe that abortion is baby murder, black people are predisposed to being criminals, poor people don't deserve to have healthcare, and trans kids should have to live in a miserable hell that makes them want to commit suicide, I'm not going to just "not talk about it" and stay friends with them. If your morals are that fucked, I can't in good conscience call you a friend.

It is when they vote for people who outwardly say that shit. I don't care what they claim to believe, I only care what their actions say they believe. I don't know a single "conservative" who wouldn't vote for a politician aiming to infringe upon minority rights, and if you're voting for people who want me to be forced to bear a child I don't want, or who want my trans sibling to be banned from receiving life-saving medical care, or who want to deregulate the medical industry so that insurance companies and profit-hospital CEOs can line their pockets at the expense of the working class, or who want to give more money to racist cops who harass my black friends? Then you can talk about how you don't hate trans people all you want but the consequences of your actions say otherwise. You can say abortion doesn't bother you but I don't believe you. You can say "well, I have a black friend" but you're still voting for racists. And I'm sorry, but that makes you a bad person and I won't be friends with a bad person.

Maybe in other countries it's different. But American conservatives only want to "conserve" the status quo of rich white people doing whatever they want and everyone else getting fucked. They can deny it, but until they stop voting for it there's zero reason to believe them.

I love my husband! Knowing when to just let the other person get on with shit is a pretty good litmus test, I agree, lol.

They got worse recently, too, at least locally. You can't even turn off the insistent voice anymore, so now I have to hear it repeat "please scan your next item and place it in the bag" a dozen times, usually cut off because it takes longer for the damn machine to say that than it does for me to actually scan shit. And now they've added cameras which get easily confused if you, like me, usually just hold your few items in your hands while you're scanning, thinking you're trying to "dupe" the scanner.
