Fucking ridiculous. If you want to prevent CSAM spreading across Europe do this instead:

  • Ban churches, cults and other forms of self indulgent mass-schizophenia which promote the letargy of the mind and the seclusion, especially when it comes with the baggage of a self-validating autonomus and indipendent legal sysyem (yes I'm winking at you vatican), as a moral virtues.

I'm italian, granted I surely haven't voted for these backward monkeys, I'm utterly ashamed we have to be represented by these a-holes.

Nonetheless I'm not even blaming them for winning the vote, the only reason they won is because the opposition was even worse, had even less ideas and those few were as much useless or worse, and their leaders were even less charismatic, aside being catatonically and obliviously detached from the people and the people's interests they should represent

AFAIK it is audited, and its threat model is rather extreme, like there is no unequivocally binding id, you can give every contact a different id

Consumers payments deserves their privacy, but business ones needs absolutely to be fully traceable.

Could it be possible to use two different yet identical interchangeable currencies, one traceable for making business only, and one untraceable for consumers retail transactions?

loosely i.e.

  • wages are Business currency converted and paid in Consumer currency, accounted for the amount paid to the consumer in his name
  • end-users/home/consumer purchases are made from consumers anonymously in Consumer currency, and this is converted converted into Business currency upon transaction, keeping only the consumer name anonymous but tracing everything else
  • B2B transactions are made in Business currency, fully traceable

... I don't know there is probably still a loophole
