The weird thing is that it even rubs of to the rest of the world, cars are getting bigger and higher in Europe, without the tax dodge, or even the contrary. Where I live cars are taxed by weight and even here the fuckers get bigger...

commonality

That's a bit of a weak point. It's proven that with propaganda enough people can be made to be convinced of something that can even be very untrue.

Akasazh ,
@Akasazh@feddit.nl avatar

Yes it's quite an ok basis for the scientific method, but op was referring to objective truth. Shared subjectivity might be the best approximation, however it's no basis for objective ontology

Akasazh ,
@Akasazh@feddit.nl avatar

How can you be sure it's not a Cartesian ghost trying to fill your senses into seeing one?

Akasazh ,
@Akasazh@feddit.nl avatar

real world

Ontology is about how we would objectively prove there is such a thing as the real world. There is a reason in science we're not talking about truth finding, but falsification.

Basically we can only come up with theories and try to disprove them. Objectively proving existence is an unsolved problem.

But that's a tldr of the entire history of philosophy, there's plenty of there to explore.

I don't see any information about the crossing. Was it a crossing without gates? As the sensors must've picked that up when driving towards it. If so, is a huge oversight not putting up gated crossings nowadays, certainly on busy roads, regardless of the performance of self driving cars.

Akasazh ,
@Akasazh@feddit.nl avatar

Ah. I've read it, but I have media tuned of, so I didn't see the video. Thanks for the clarification!

Akasazh ,
@Akasazh@feddit.nl avatar

True, but it would be an exceptional failure if the car missed a gated crossing, as it turns out it was.

It's a well written article that raises some good points, however it's also a bit of an ad for their particular ai, the research is practically only within that LLM and every objection about LLM's it raises, their model seems to be well adjusted or adjustable to it.

If you read the verdict it says: maximum privacy combined with optimal obfuscation techniques. This implies that the sole role of the software is money laundering. The striving for privacy itself is not in question.

I do not disturb that in any way, just clarified the verdict from Dutch

Originally it wasn't, it was about finding a home nation for Jews in exodus. However they made it into a nation for Jews only and that's where things got messy.

I did read that, I'ts just very overtly biassed. I dislike that this writer made it about Marxism, which it doesn't really have anything to do with, ideologically. I also object of retoactively using the term fascism for anything dating before Benito Mussolini, as he kind of coined the term. Any use of the term before that is couterfactual. Ethno Nationalism is a more proper term.

The original Judenstaat of Herzl never spoke of a pure Judish state where Palestinians were to be expunged from. Thats quite recent.

Zionism was never a anti-marxist thing, just the pogroms of the post revolutionary Russia (which by some -misguidedly- is thought of as a Marxist state) were a catalist.

Only two - Renault and Dacia, which are not sold in North America - offer drivers the option to have their data deleted

Windows 11 Start menu ads are now rolling out to everyone (www.theverge.com)

Microsoft is starting to enable ads inside the Start menu on Windows 11 for all users. After testing these briefly with Windows Insiders earlier this month, Microsoft has started to distribute update KB5036980 to Windows 11 users this week, which includes “recommendations” for apps from the Microsoft Store in the Start menu....

In the light of the recent passing of Daniel Dennet, one of the most revered philosophers on the theory of mind in the perspective of the computer I'd recommend reading 'the minds I'. It is a collection of essays on the topic of 'mind as computer'. It predates LLM's but its an interesting read.

The discussion what intelligence is, is kindled now, due to having machines that can complete the Turing test with ease. But if they are truly Intelligent is of course the emergent question.

[panel 1: a large dodo approaches a clean, well dressed vagrant youth sat beside a well fashioned wood and stone building. Cynosuralism (Sociocratic Confederalism) (lemmy.world)

Cynosuralism is one of my own interpretations of libertarian political philosophy. I had originally named it as “Sociocratic Confederalism” as it is heavily inspired by Democratic Confederalism, Communalism, Libertarian Municipalism, and Social Ecology, all of which are interconnected amongst themselves....

In a traditional write up one would start with a distinction of the term, which is at the very end here.

I wished it to be more literal, κυνόσουρα meaning the tail of the dog in Greek, and the constellation later (the minor part of the dog constellation)

But that's because I'm more of a cynic (also from dog) in the Digogenesian manner.

Besides that, aside from the non humanism, I'm not so very sure that this is a novel philosophical concept. But in general not a bad utopian state to aspire to. Shoot for the stars!

The thing is that the 'cock sucking' criterium you use is a bit beside the point.

One can suck a cock without being gay, in fact most cock sucking occurs in heterosexual context.

Then there's the cock sucking by people who don't identity as gay, or sometimes even staunchly advocate against gay identity.

And then there's the cock sucking as a transactional or functional. Some people don't love those who sport cocks, but still suck them to gain money or affection or children. Or just because it's the norm and they don't want to be considered weird (you'd be surprised how big this group is).

The better qualification would be whom you love. And that shouldn't be so complicated. Some people live dogs, but I don't, that's ok with me as long as they don't force me to pet or be licked by their dog.
