"The enshittifucation will continue until profits improve." --CEOs of Publicly Traded Companies

Tesla is recalling its Cybertruck for the fourth time to fix problems with trim pieces that can come loose and front windshield wipers that can fail | The new recalls each affect over 11,000 trucks (apnews.com)

The company says in the documents that the front windshield wiper motor controller can stop working because it’s getting too much electrical current. A wiper that fails can cut visibility, increasing the risk of a crash. The Austin, Texas, company says it knows of no crashes or injuries caused by the problem....

It's fine, just keep it in Car Wash mode all the time 😎

Idk even the more egregious defects usually don't get discovered this close to launch. The accelerator petal debacle should not have happened to begin with. It's a solved technology!

I was explaining to my daughter about the differences between Gimp and Photoshop and saw that Adobe had a page that claimed to compare the two. It never compares the two. It barely mentions Gimp. (www.adobe.com)

I expected ridiculous propaganda from Adobe, but they give absolutely no reasons why Photoshop is better than Gimp and list a bunch of things that Gimp can do too....

How is Photoshop different from Gimp?

Photoshop is a subscription-based...

Oh, so Gimp is better then, thanks Adobe!

Microsoft Edge nags users with a 3D banner to change Windows 11's default browser (www.windowslatest.com)

Would you use Edge as your default browser on Windows 11 if Microsoft nags you with a 3D banner? Microsoft thinks you would. In a new experiment, which appears to be rolling out to Edge stable on Windows 11, Microsoft has turned on a banner that uses 3D graphics to promote the browser....

If you have to ask, it's not for you. It's for retro PC enthusiasts

DannyMac ,
@DannyMac@lemm.ee avatar

Yes, obviously. You know, I wonder how many instances of Windows 95 you can simultaneously emulate on an Android smartphone? The point is this is for retro PC enthusiasts/hobbyists. For many, emulation just isn't the same experience as running it on real hardware.

I know, you make valid good points, but people who are interested in purchasing this want to run the software on bare metal.

I think the thing to worry about is these corporations centrally controlling this data. With one fell swoop, they can do whatever they want with it. With forums, at least they weren't controlled by one company.

I've heard good things about Lemmy

What are the distros that would align with these categories?

Idk, Kentucky is fairly distinct with its shape... I'd appreciate something to help me with Colorado, Wyoming, or Kansas

Wait until you have photos spanning from, not only your child, but your cousins' children who are photographed less often. Google can easily match up an infant to the same 10 year old child. Hell, I can barely do that sometimes and have to use context clues to figure out who the infant was.

True, but then you get oddities where it asks if my FIL and Santa are the same person

Good luck finding which data centers the AI is operating from

I loved this skit! Also, it's clear Heidi Gardner must have not seen them in costume until the live performance. She lost it and that would have happened to me too if I was in her shoes!

I'd say so with those constant little dopamine hits. Shit, I'm 40 and I've had to put a bunch of efforSHIT IM ON LEMMY AGAIN!

I think those are enhancement artifacts of computational photography from that device's camera app
