How much is privacy actually worth?

I can't seem to find an actual currency estimate of how much privacy is actually worth. I see a ton of articles talking about why privacy should be worth more to people or what people would pay for privacy services or how much people would sell their privacy for, but I don't see anything that gives a value for the privacy...

I tried Collabora on a Galaxy Droid and it was such a massively buggy disappointment: in a .ODS file, I couldn't backspace more than once; I could only delete one character at a time. Correct, Oracle VirtualBox was the furthest I went. It was interesting, but:

there is absolutely zero reason to not go the extra mile and hop to desktop freedom.

My digital life, in both professional and personal capacities, is intertwined with hundreds of my AutoHotkey scripts, which appears to be Win-only; AutoKey is the closest thing that I could find and is so much harder to use or even understand.

Anyway, thanks for that Titus utility!

Kdenlive can auto-sync audio tracks.

You can set one audio track as a source and have a second similar one auto-align with it. Right-click the audio track in Kdenlive's timeline and you'll see these options.

The way I use it is:

  1. Record video on a phone
  2. At the same time, record superior audio on a microphone
  3. In Kdenlive, load both project files and align the mic's audio track to the phone's inferior audio (which you first designate as the source)
  4. Delete the phone audio and splice the remaining material

It's been incredibly helpful for me to the point of donating to the dev team.

What are your favorite browser extensions?

Ublock Origin is an obvious one, but I also can't stand not having Foxy Gestures anymore. It adds customizable mouse gestures, so you can set it up to have easy swipes to go back a page, reload a page, close a tab, etc, and it feels wonderful and smooth to use compared to just using the traditional buttons to do everything....

The browsers have their own dark mode, in chrome://flags or edge://flags, but in my experience they don't work as consistently, overall.
