Domino's isn't "taking advantage of you not knowing how the system works" when they plaster the deals in all caps on their homepage. They want you to use the deals, and make it very easy to use the deals.

I would think there'd be less obstinate boomerism on Lemmy, but apparently not. You have eyes, you have fingers, and presumably a brain. You could have used them, you didn't. You paid more than you had to as a result. You now have the option to learn, and not make the same mistake again.

Ever maybe think that maybe... JUST MAYBE!!! some people don't actually want to live in a 10000 person/mile area and want a different life with trees or fields around them instead of more endless asphalt?

For those people, vehicles are the bridge between wanting to live around nature and not starving to death.

100%, quality of life for the animal is quality of meat for you.

Deer processing is a one (or two, with beers) person knife job, but cattle is best handled by the pros. I once had a calf die a a couple months in of bloat, and that fucker was about 4x the amount of work and meat, even with two people. I can't imagine how long it would take with a full grown bull.

Seconding the last bit, as a child I was seen as an easy target for bullies, being short, sarcastic, nerdy, and a year younger than everyone else in my class. The School never helped, and generally made it worse. Sadly, hitting someone back harder than they hit me made it better.

I would occasionally have to listen to the Principal go through the "Zero Tolerence" BS, but we liked eachother and understood what the situation was under the verbiage. I'd make apologizing noises, get a little detention, and that was that.

But hey, it turns out if you bloody someone's nose, they'll stop fucking with you. Bloody enough noses that fucked with you, and you'll get a reputation that mitigates violence against you and having to use violence to protect yourself. One fistfight a year or so; win, lose, or draw; buys you a year free of bullies. Damn good deal!

Still it's an interesting place I find myself in philosophically, where quothe Tim Barry, "I think pacifists are weak, and violence is wrong".

Idk if it's that extreme or needs such a vitriolic reaction, but obsolescence is always lurking around the corner.

I personally think that there will never not be a demand for physical storage in a tiny thumb sized package, but I'm not so arrogant as to assume it's the End Of Storage. Hell, I bet disks seemed pretty great and advanced at the time too.
