We really need a whole community just for the very funny AI errors like this. I could spend all day reading about leaving a dog in a hot car, jumping off a bridge and eating at least one rock a day.

M0oP0o ,
@M0oP0o@mander.xyz avatar

Why? this is great content.

M0oP0o ,
@M0oP0o@mander.xyz avatar

We have not even come close to over saturation yet. Now once we have AI making mistakes about AI past mistakes being used for a meme about AI mistakes then you will be on the money.

I will never understand the appeal for cloud based home automation.

All the spying aside, 16 years and your thermostat is no longer supported sounds ok until you think about how if you replace everything with cloud based equivalents you are always going to be having to replace things going out of service. I think its funny that you pay more for a device that lasts for lot less (How many thermostats have people seen fail?). I guess the companies are happy?

M0oP0o ,
@M0oP0o@mander.xyz avatar

You know (I hope) that that functionality does not require a cloud based service right? You are describing features for things I was playing around with 20 years ago, what you need is a program or app, not a live service. The appeal of controlling your things from your phone is not new.

Lactokenetic powers where the best thing I have seen on screen. To bad the second season never happened.

M0oP0o ,
@M0oP0o@mander.xyz avatar

I refuse to believe anything after the first season was not another much worse show.

M0oP0o ,
@M0oP0o@mander.xyz avatar

Also by changing up the characters/actors you just can not really care since who knows if that character will be around.

What? That is gold, not Mildly Infuriating at all.

Instagram Advertises Nonconsensual AI Nude Apps (www.404media.co)

Instagram is profiting from several ads that invite people to create nonconsensual nude images with AI image generation apps, once again showing that some of the most harmful applications of AI tools are not hidden on the dark corners of the internet, but are actively promoted to users by social media companies unable or...

Welp, great it is time to crosspost to a boring dystopia. Again.......

M0oP0o ,
@M0oP0o@mander.xyz avatar

It deserves the attention and ridicule. It needs to know it did bad and should feel bad.

M0oP0o ,

This is so weird and not for the obvious reasons. We as a general people (worldwide) are more productive then ever and if anything there is more production then the market can handle. Even by the most cut throat thinking this is pointless. Who is going to buy the products produced by the sleep slaves?

AI prompt in the bingilator was "the fall of Rome, but the Romans are all sailor moon and the barbarians are slime monsters"

If weird nonsense is what you want then check out !imageai

Guess more from this "genre"

Sorry to have to put this out here, but I think this would be less damage as getting hit with a non dick beetle. That dick is more then likely just fiberglass and maybe some wood, making a large "crumple zone".

I have been thinking on this all day, and can not stop thinking on it.

Humans are literally responsible for all preventable things in society. This take is also "dumb as fuck"

M0oP0o ,
@M0oP0o@mander.xyz avatar

Yes and saying "human drivers" are often at fault when talking about smashing up motor vehicles is just as silly.

As you can also say; Hey, did you know that 100% of deaths related with driverless cars involved software?

M0oP0o ,
@M0oP0o@mander.xyz avatar

Yes, clearly that must be why they fought so hard to hide their crash data

M0oP0o ,
@M0oP0o@mander.xyz avatar

even though they’re statistically safer than normal drivers.

Safer according to Waymo data, who has a history of and is currently hiding data.

M0oP0o ,
@M0oP0o@mander.xyz avatar

You seem to have an issue with wealth distribution, not autonomous vehicles.

How much could an autonomous car cost Michael, $10?

M0oP0o ,
@M0oP0o@mander.xyz avatar

Happen to know the cost of one Waymo taxi vs one taxi plus a person making a living from driving that taxi? I do know that Waymo charges more and almost all info is hidden.

M0oP0o ,
@M0oP0o@mander.xyz avatar

So since a taxi driver in san fran makes (according to a quick google) $48,384 a year we can assume this means they need at least 2 years out of these to break even. This is assuming it does not get set on fire from the driver who is now out of a job.

@M0oP0o@mander.xyz avatar

So, someone can look at this festering putrid hellscape we call the internet in the past 5 years and still see a way down?

M0oP0o ,
@M0oP0o@mander.xyz avatar

The irony of some of the articles being clearly written by AI while also being about "Palword because someone said AI" is rich.

M0oP0o ,
@M0oP0o@mander.xyz avatar

HA! They would not even pay $1 for moving expenses when they asked me to move across the country. This was 8 plus years ago and not only was the offer no extra money, it was the same money in a more remote, colder, and higher cost of living area.

Well at least when I was there IBM managers where managing multiple teams across different cities.

They had the same made up issue years ago as well. I think I went to the office maybe once or twice a year, then all of a sudden, every Friday was "Think Friday" and we had to sit in a big room and hear some sales person talk nonsense about cloud, agile development and how soon field technicians would be ditching their clipboards for digital solutions (this was a good 20 years after every tech in IBM had stopped using paper fyi).

IBM just wants to get rid of more people and this is their plan.

Or as it was in the past, IBM is in the business of getting out of business, and that business is good.

M0oP0o ,
@M0oP0o@mander.xyz avatar

Yeah.... that is a big part of the thing.

Also, hiding emails/notes from users with some bad wannabe AI was a neat frustration.

M0oP0o ,
@M0oP0o@mander.xyz avatar

What the shit is/was Nitter? Sorry I can't seem to keep up.

M0oP0o ,
@M0oP0o@mander.xyz avatar

Thanks, I guess I never tried reading a twit post to learn of the issue.

M0oP0o ,
@M0oP0o@mander.xyz avatar

They clam a credit to using AI to make the thumbnail..... The same people who did nothing more then ask Chat GPT to make a picture to represent the article on a tool that poisons AI models to protect people who make pictures for a living from having Chat GPT use their work to make; say a picture to represent an article on a tool that poisons AI models......

25% is really high. I doubt most of these ever see another ass.

10 acres is very very small and is not even a full time job for a person. Are you assuming this is all done without machines? like small hobby farms are all Amish or something? (actually even the Amish farm way more then 10 acres per person, they are not lazy)

M0oP0o ,
@M0oP0o@mander.xyz avatar

(EDITING TO ADD THIS IS WRONG AND I MESSED UP THE CALCULATIONS. IT SHOULD BE 40 TIMES OR SO MORE)

Also just because this bugs me in a strange way.

10 acres of land growing wheat produces about 600lbs of harvested wheat a year. That is about 900,000 calories a year. Even of you ate nothing but wheat gruel you would just manage enough food for one person (about 900,000 calories assuming 2500 a day).

I think like a lot of people you have no idea the scale of farming required to feed the world. Is this why Holodomors happen?
