Åkesson joined SD when it was openly a Nazi party to "change it from the inside." Could not be more like the comic. All he got them to do was update the rhetoric. If there was another panel of the comic, all of the same people would be there but they just wouldn't be wearing the uniforms anymore and he'd be sitting there all smug saying "mission accomplished."

Yep, everyone claims to be a "moderate" when it suits them, especially the far right. Like Åkesson they realise the optics are bad and put on a nice suit while supporting the same horrendous shit they always did

Why was Rafah a red line until all of a sudden it wasn't? Because he knows it's morally wrong and will lead to a lot of death but is too much of a coward to stand up for what he believes.

This one guy posts several times every single day about the war and often lays it all at Biden's feet. If he's paid, Putin or whoever it is truly does get their money's worth with so many posts and comments essentially indirectly supporting trump.

Honestly as someone who isn't American, this is more important to me than economic policy or whatever. I want Biden to win, Trump winning would be awful for everyone, basically worldwide. But most of all I want the kids to stop dying. I really don't think this is so unreasonable.

Trump won't be convinced. Biden might be. And this "less important" issue could still cost him swing states. I think maybe not supporting a genocide could be a vote winner.

I think since the scales are tipped in republicans' favour (e.g. losing popular vote but winning presidency always goes one way - Trump, Bush), not voting likely benefits them over the dems. Depending on your state of course.

Agree 100%. I don't think the people you were arguing with really want to engage on these points, their entire position only applies in the voting booth. They're right, in pure Biden vs Trump there is only one reasonable choice. I just wouldn't gamble so hard on the population being reasonable, otherwise Trump would have never won in 2016 either.

Adding to the other answers... This is kind of just "for show" in that most of the time you only use the relevant terms, I can't even imagine what type of problem you'd have to be solving to need to write all this out. Really it's just "here are all of the interactions" and not "oh shit we have to do some particle physics stuff get out the monster equation."

They add ... sometimes to signify that they're just taking pieces.

Donald Trump is Genocide at home and abroad.

Joe Biden is "only" Genocide abroad, and probably less of it.

Therefore, a vote for Joe Biden is a Vote against genocide.

No, it's a vote for genocide, but less. Still the right thing to do of course, but I'm sure you can see how that is still a vote for genocide. No need to twist yourself in knots to justify this, it's a vote for genocide AND the only sensible thing you can do in the current American political system.

Personally I can understand how this doesn't sell people on the idea so well. Maybe Biden just shouldn't do that

Sounds like a lot of semantic twisting and turning so it's easier to feel ok with voting for someone currently aiding a genocide. That's fine but let's not pretend it reflects the reality of the situation

E.g. candidate A wants to give the death penalty to all crimes.

Candidate B wants to give the death penalty to murderers

Is voting for candidate B an anti death penalty vote? I think that is absurd
