OsrsNeedsF2P , to Game Development in What's the best game engine for me?

Unreal is heavy, and while you can make games without any coding knowledge, it's more for super fancy 3D games.

Unity and Godot are a bit simpler and more casual. Unity is ripe with issues and Godot is a little more immature. I would recommend Godot if you care about open source/community vibes, or Unity if you want more powerful features.

I wish there were better 2D or 2.5D dedicated engines, since imo most games don't require 3D to be cool, but I don't personally know any good ones (RIP Flash)

OsrsNeedsF2P , to Privacy in Thoughts on LMO Droid?

It actually looks really cool. I ran Lineage for a while and it was great, but I do enjoy projects that don't fully degoogle as well and give a more "modded" experience

The people who maintain .org enforce it

If you contact the .org registry they'll take it down. .org is for non-profits

OsrsNeedsF2P , to Technology in 1000+ Firefox for Android extensions now available – Mozilla Add-ons Community Blog

The UI for playing ads and paying for music sure is great!

OsrsNeedsF2P , to Technology in Nintendo Switch Is Removing Integration for X, Formerly Twitter

Is it neutral? Nintendo integrating with X both advertises X and Nintendo

More like "Joanne got a promotion for integrating X!", followed by "Mike got a promotion by saving the company 2M/year!"

OsrsNeedsF2P , to Privacy in Proton Mail Discloses User Data Leading to Arrest in Spain

Lmao you're right. Removed the first part. It came to look like an ad because I posted my first thought, then came back with my second one and appended it.

As far as the password goes, to this day I have no idea how it happened. I don't want to admit I use the same password for everything, but ye know.. it just stopped working for Proton one day.

OsrsNeedsF2P , (edited ) to Privacy in Proton Mail Discloses User Data Leading to Arrest in Spain

I used to use Protonmail and VPN, but one day my password just randomly stopped working and I lost access to everything. Switched over to Tutanota and Mullvad and have had zero issues since.

OsrsNeedsF2P , to Technology in Neuralink Co-Founder Suggests He Left Elon Musk's Company Over Safety Concerns

Ok but you haven't addressed the point that no one else is as close to doing it..

OsrsNeedsF2P , to Technology in Neuralink Co-Founder Suggests He Left Elon Musk's Company Over Safety Concerns

Is it terrible that Elon can decide these things? Because no one else is as close to succeeding, and Elon's not forcing me to do it

OsrsNeedsF2P , to Technology in Mullvad VPN: Introducing Defense against AI-guided Traffic Analysis (DAITA)

Err... Like.. a 2009 Java applet? Those were built straight on TCP. And the lack of security let anyone else in the same LAN cafe steal your password.

The closest thing I can think of that goes for the vibe you're talking about is I2P

OsrsNeedsF2P , to Technology in Neuralink Co-Founder Suggests He Left Elon Musk's Company Over Safety Concerns

On one hand, yea I don't want brain damage. On the other hand, if it means I can move robotic limbs after being paralyzed, maybe it's still worth it?

Like the idea of having neural interfaces that don't penetrate the brain is obviously great, but if that tech doesn't come for another 50 years, what are the current people going to do instead?

I'm not on the waiting list for Neuralink, but if I'm gonna be honest, the hate for it is over amplified.

Because you have violent tendencies that cloud your clarity of thought
