If you've seen the original first movie(ep4) when they go into the bar and meet Solo for the first time. There's an alien band playing space jazz, canonically that space jazz is named jizz.

There are no stupid questions just bad answers.

I prefer saying:
There's no stupid questions, just stupid answers once in awhile.

SturgiesYrFase ,
@SturgiesYrFase@lemmy.ml avatar

The thing is, not all answers are satisfactory, or easy without further information. That said, learning is a journey, and if you don't get stupid answers once in awhile, you're not asking enough questions.

Exactly, I never understood what people thought they would achieve by putting the link to that in their comments. Like, AI firms are absolutely willing to skim through copyrighted works of artists, backed by a much stronger license, what makes you think linking that will achieve anything. Except maybe poisoning the LLM well.
Hey, there's a thought. If we all just put that at the end of every comment, I wonder if GPT6 will figure that's just how people talk and end all it's responses with it?

That's quite quiet quintessentially quiescent and clearly colloquially colour clever.

I mean, they host Linux versions of games, it's close. I get what you mean though, a native Linux program like they have for Windows and MacOS would be great.

I really hate what it's become. Bit of a hollow shell of the glory days

what's your current linux distro?

wanting to hop into the world of linux on a dual boot method (one of my favorite games unfortunately cannot be run on linux at all, and it's a gacha. I don't want to gamble with my account being banned, so I'm keeping windows for it specifically.) this'll be my second go at it, I used Pop!_OS briefly but had some issues with...

Ditto. Super easy setup, most stuff just works right off the bat. Super active community on the forum and high participation from the devs.

Don't worry, OpenAI has made a deal with a company that's making Fusion power also heavily connected to Sam Altman that hasn't actually done anything exceptional yet. So when they finally crack Fusion then AI can just be powered by that!

Been trying out the demo for a game called Airborne Empire. You should give it a go, you'll have more moments like this.

The only sense it makes is that M$ hasn't followed the spec, and so things done in office display fine in say libreOffice, but not the other way around. So if your company is willing to transition, but everyone you deal with outside the company is still on Office, there's a bit of a communication issue. That's M$'s biggest strength, homogenous work environments.

Pretty sure it is "illegal" I mean didn't they get dragged through court in what the 90s 00s? Specifically for anti-competative monopolistic actions. Illegal was in quotes there because nothing really changed.

SturgiesYrFase ,

Fuck it! I'm in!

Should be and is in fact? Two veeeerrrry different things

If that brings you joy, maybe you might like the Behind the Bastards episodes on Kissinger. Just to really cement in you mind what a piece of shit he was. And also to find out that at one point he was a bit of a sex symbol, which I personally find, at minimum, mildly disturbing.

It's not cool to make fun of someone's speech impediment....

It's a rare thing for me to celebrate someone's death, but it's a shame he didn't kick off sooner.

Microsoft in damage-control mode, says it will prioritize security over AI (arstechnica.com)

Microsoft is pivoting its company culture to make security a top priority, President Brad Smith testified to Congress on Thursday, promising that security will be "more important even than the company’s work on artificial intelligence."...

There's security people retching around the world and they're not sure why.

Nooooooononono....it's the one before step 3

Could do it on a personal computer and load it on USB? Idk, just thinking out loud right now

SturgiesYrFase ,
@SturgiesYrFase@lemmy.ml avatar

Fair enough, I'm glad you're not being held to arbitrary metrics that show nothing about actual effort or work done.

SturgiesYrFase ,
@SturgiesYrFase@lemmy.ml avatar

I get that, sometimes not being harassed is worth a pay cut.

SturgiesYrFase ,
@SturgiesYrFase@lemmy.ml avatar

That's pretty dope. Is the PTO actually usable?

SturgiesYrFase ,
@SturgiesYrFase@lemmy.ml avatar

God I'm so jealous. I have 28 days worth of hours and minutes plus bank holidays. I'm also salary. I technically work for a spun off part if the government, so if I went to work private I would at least double my yearly earnings, but there wouldn't be stability in my working days, no pension, no built in disability or injury pay etc etc etc. That said, we should be getting paid a lot more than we are.

As a Stonemason would I have any transferable skills?

SturgiesYrFase ,
@SturgiesYrFase@lemmy.ml avatar

Wait...when did it go from 46 to 56?

And also...do the "shareholders" think this will improve the value of the company? Isn't it more than half of their revenue? Wouldn't this actually be a really bad thing for Tesla's value? Isn't Tesla one of the few EV producers with quickly dropping sales figures? Are the shareholders actually just Mlon Eusk? Enquiring minds want to know!

SturgiesYrFase ,
@SturgiesYrFase@lemmy.ml avatar

That's the kinda attitude that takes you places, yer gonna go far kid!

SturgiesYrFase ,
@SturgiesYrFase@lemmy.ml avatar

I'd be fine with all them diamond handing their way to bankruptcy, if it didn't help enrich that dickhead musk.

SturgiesYrFase ,
@SturgiesYrFase@lemmy.ml avatar

I'm not super well versed with economics, could you eli5 how it's a good decision for the shareholders? Not being snarky, I'd actually like to know.

SturgiesYrFase ,
@SturgiesYrFase@lemmy.ml avatar

Shhhhh....I haven't been up for 18hrs, and I certainly haven't been drinking. Just....just shhhhhhh.

SturgiesYrFase ,
@SturgiesYrFase@lemmy.ml avatar

Not like that!

SturgiesYrFase ,
@SturgiesYrFase@lemmy.ml avatar

I mean...if you get written up for circumventing IT blocks and installing Linux on your work device, but that write up is signed with a barage of bullets....maybe you're working for the wrong dictatorship?

SturgiesYrFase ,
@SturgiesYrFase@lemmy.ml avatar

Hey, that's an inappropriate attitude, we're an equal opportunity employer!

I wasn't born until halfway through the 80s and know exactly where the word is from....but my reading habits tend toward that type of sci-fi, so I'm probably an outlier....

Not tried endeavour, but Garuda is pretty slick, and the forums are read by devs very actively. And OP is right, it's as easy as could be, so easy my wife installed it without having to ask any questions until she got to the niche optional program installs. Even then there was only one thing she wasn't sure she didn't need.

SturgiesYrFase ,
@SturgiesYrFase@lemmy.ml avatar

Some one should turn this whole thing into the skeletor meme format

SturgiesYrFase ,
@SturgiesYrFase@lemmy.ml avatar

Like I said in a previous thread that ended up on this topic. There's a special place in hell, with Satan from Little Nicky, a few pineapples and some lobsters to hang off these asshole's nipples.....

SturgiesYrFase ,
@SturgiesYrFase@lemmy.ml avatar

what exactly does it do justify a $700 cost if processing is done in the cloud?

Nothing. Literally just using your phone is faster and easier.

SturgiesYrFase ,
@SturgiesYrFase@lemmy.ml avatar

Sure it's got half decent specs, but all the "magic"(read as almost semi-functional) stuff happens server side.

SturgiesYrFase ,
@SturgiesYrFase@lemmy.ml avatar

I'd say it's so far past the border ICE is hunting it down. And no, like $200 half decent.

SturgiesYrFase ,
@SturgiesYrFase@lemmy.ml avatar

Oh there's a special place in hell, where Satan from the movie Little Nicky is, waiting for these people....with lobsters and a pineapple.
