As noted by security researcher Will Dormann, some posts on X purport to lead to a legitimate website, but actually redirect somewhere else. In Dormann's example, an advertisement posted by a verified X user claims to lead to forbes.com. When Dormann clicks the link, however, it takes him to a different link to open a Telegram...

The bigger problem is asinine mods and you can't route around them simply by going to old.

Windows is the much more difficult OS AFAIK. Even something simple like having keyboard focus follow mouse is a giant pain and doesn't work well (pop up dialogs can be painful). I hate windows and managed to mostly avoid it until I switched jobs in 2017.

And keeping your software up to date is a giant pain.

Plenty of modal dialogs flat out don't work with keyboard follows mouse. But now that you mention it, its windows dialogs (not from 3rd party apps) that seem to be the most problematic.

I don't really think that physical buttons on the dashboard are any less distracting. I still have take my eyes off the road to make sure I press the correct button. At least I can press right scroll wheel and give voice commands.

Too bad my old employer stopped allowing employees to access the printers. You have to email your document to a printer admin and they will print it for you.

Oh, they also did the same thing with a nextcloud server. There was some plugin for word or something that they needed for their workflow. But they weren't going pay the $10 for the plugin for every every user. So they licensed it for a few clerical admins (might even be the same as the printer people) and if you needed to share a file with a customer, you emailed it to them and they stuck it on the nextcloud server and emailed the customer.

And another one is Zoom. Again, we had meeting admins with a paid zoom license. So if you wanted a meeting that wouldn't get cut off after 40 minutes, you email the meeting admins and they would schedule it.

No one is forcing you to buy a home in an HOA that requires solar.

I do have sympathy for people that vote NO on large capital expense assessments because its expensive for them and then have to come up with the money anyways.
