SearXNG proxying Google still isn’t as good sometimes for some reason (maybe search bubbling even in private browsing w/VPN). Might pay for search someday to avoid falling back to Google.

Can absolutely never blindly trust the hallucinating plagiarism machine.

It's great where either facts don't matter or you're personally in a position to vet all of its “factual” output 100%. Text revision, prompting for additional perspectives, prompting to challenge beliefs and identify gaps. Reformatting, quick and easy data extraction, outlining, brainstorming.

The argument has been since free filing means only the wealthy will hire accountants, free filing would discriminate against the poor given a few mistakes will be made here and there.

Depressing thought: there’s a remote possibility the government is inept enough trying to roll around verification system that a third party has a safer solution.

Positive thinking: maybe the government is just using a third party until they’ve had time to make their own service entirely bombproof. Let’s go with that for our sake.

I’d be astonished if that was OpenAI’s. Can’t find any articles, threads, or screenshots after extensive research (a minute of web searching). And didn’t hear anything at the time going back to December 2022.
