fushuan , to Mildly Infuriating in According to my camera's focus assist, this is perfectly focused

For images of objects that distant, you need to manually focus into infinity to get good results. Check of your camera app has a "pro" Mode where it lets you adjust that manually. Also, manually increasing the exposition rate helps to get starriers skies, but you need good pulse.

fushuan , to Mildly Infuriating in Tethered plastic caps

I just deafen the complaints of tm friends and break the tether every time.

PS: as a lemmy geeky user, every time means like once or twice.

fushuan , to Comic Strips in Channelate

I do, which is why I said that your example is not like the one of the comic.

fushuan , to Comic Strips in Jupiter has 95 confirmed moons

Ever heard of black humor? Their comment is intentionally heavy to create a clash in the reader's expectations.

fushuan , to Comic Strips in Channelate

This was nothing like your interaction though. Asking why doesn't mean they don't acknowledge the other person doing it for fun, it's just that they are curious if there's a reason.

-Haha, why?

+Found it cool and felt like it.

-That's cool, I used to play X when I was younger but....

It can also just be a conversation starter, nothing wrong with asking why.

fushuan , to Mildly Infuriating in Chinese AI - Double Standards

It's not that they don't criticise, it's that when something negative shows up, they defend it showing several biased sources, as if they meant anything, or jump into whataboutism.

Whenever someone posts something negative and promotes discussion or critique about it, lo and behold, see how this other country is also horrible and see the good things mine does. Like dude, cool, let us discuss this and you can create another post for those things. It's pretty clear that they want to divert the conversation.

fushuan , to 196 in Rule for Beginners

It's more like delete C:/

System32 and everything else.

fushuan , to 196 in Rule for Beginners

I always put the f last, as in first the whole command, then go back and write the -rf, just because if I accidentally press enter I don't want an uncompleted path to be destroyed.

fushuan , to 196 in Rule for Beginners

I always do - lha or -la, but sometimes I did -a and I want the L, so I reuse the old command and add a l, making it -al.

fushuan , to Technology in Inside the shifting plan at Elon Musk’s X to build a new team and police a platform ‘so toxic it’s almost unrecognizable’

I mean, it's not wrong, but that's like saying that twitter is a platform that provides celebrity comments. True, but bruh.

most appeared to have moved from Accenture, a firm that provides content moderation contractors to internet companies

Bruh, Accenture is a consulting company, they provide everything contractors.

fushuan , to Mildly Infuriating in What I'm paying to find out I don't have breast cancer. I have insurance. (Ultrasound and mammogram in the USA)

I pay less taxes than the average American, therefore my healthcare is free for me in comparison. I also don't pay for private insurance either.

fushuan , to Mildly Infuriating in What I'm paying to find out I don't have breast cancer. I have insurance. (Ultrasound and mammogram in the USA)

Anything above zero for cancer checkups seems way too high for me, from Spain.

fushuan , to Comic Strips in "Kite Flying" by Twonks Comic

"sure was hard when you mom was bouncing on it last night"

...and that's a beating from the bully.

fushuan , to Technology in Only 150+ apps have been designed specifically for Apple's Vision Pro, so far | TechCrunch

I see potential on the technology as a fake monitor. No need to have monitors on your PC setup, just connect the thingy into your PC and use it to generate a fake screen. Now I want a movie, the fake screen takes the whole wall, now a game, it takes 27', now to work, it creates 3-4 virtual screens/apps to place in the wall.

I would pay a lot for something like it. The freedom it provides seems great. If the thing has the resolution it says it has, and they showed how you could connect it to a mac, if it takes off, the only possible future I see for high end PCs is virtual monitors.
