Thanks, I think the RGB shirt might be custom to him because the same image is his YouTube channel's profile header image.

player2 , to Technology in New dishwasher video drop

Does Technology Connections sell shirts? In most of his recent videos he has worn a black shirt with zoomed in RGB pixels from a digital display and I've been looking for it everywhere because I work in a related industry.

player2 , to Memes in Last one, i've been farming Ai for memes but last one with lore

You can opt into it and other beta technologies at Google Labs.

player2 , to Memes in Truly a bittersweet moment

Congrats! It's scary, but this is when you finally have the freedom to live your unique life. Stay in touch with your close friends, everyone else will fade away. And remember, wear sunscreen.

player2 , to Technology in Drone maker DJI facing U.S. FCC ban — the national security risk and part China-state ownership are key issues

No, that is a common misconception. Most (~85%) companies in China are completely private and just pay taxes. Most of the super large companies (like fortune 500) are partially or completely state owned though. They have embraced aspects of capitalism the last decade, but with checks to ensure that huge corporations don't control society like in the US.

Don't forget to deduct your home office if you work from home.

player2 , to linuxmemes in Talking to normies about privacy:

Stupid question: What exactly are the dangers being implied here? I have accounts with all of these services although I don't use all of them. I know that they are using and selling my personal information, is there more? I have ways of doing things in private when I need and I'm aware that using these services has no expectations of absolute privacy.

"[Google] will give users an exclusive offer for a Self Setup System from ADT on us (up to $485 value) or $200 to use on the Google Store."

player2 , to Fediverse in I am extremely grateful to everybody involved with Lemmy. That includes you!

Thank you for creating and maintaining this space for us, I'm grateful for you and all of the other people working to keep things running and improving on lemmy. It is becoming harder and harder to find spaces for discussions that aren't corporate owned.

player2 , to Memes in I thought donations were optional

FairEmail is a privacy oriented email app on fdroid which uses donation to activate pro features. €0.10 to activate one time and €7.50 for unlimited future devices. I think it's a pretty fair deal.

player2 , to Technology in Apple’s Vision Pro battery pack is hiding the final boss of Lightning cables

Very good explanation. If usb-c is good enough for a MacBook, it's definitely good enough for a small headset - no excuses!

player2 , to Technology in America Is Missing Out on the Best Electric Cars: Whatever kind of EV you might want, chances are China has it.

Eh, I've seen all these same headlines on Hacker News. China is a rapidly developing country with a lot more people, manufacturing, advancements, and news than many other countries so it makes sense that there would be a lot of news coming out of it.

I just visited China for the first time during a business trip a few weeks ago and as an American I was impressed. The US media tries so hard to present only the negative that a lot of Americans aren't even aware of all the achievements they've accomplished.

player2 , to Technology in We Finally Know How Ancient Roman Concrete Was Able to Last Thousands of Years

This plus extreme selection bias. There's plenty of concrete that did not last for thousands of years.

player2 , to Lefty Memes in fair share?

The stock prices wouldn't be affected except in the short term. The fundamentals of the companies wouldn't change and so the price would recover quickly. Any dip is due to a temporary imbalance of buyers and sellers.

These stock sales would likely be spread over longer durations so as not to crash the price which would also be bad for the billionaires because they would have to sell more stock to cover the tax.
