I've just switch from DDG to Qwant. I didn't do research about how they make there algorithm but DDG that IS to say Being was returning me unrelated stuff and even things I ask not to see in my request. The result is not amazing quality but no more amazingly bad quality.

I want to learn more about search algorithm, what there referencement politic is and what use of AI they have. It not possible today to pick a search engin algorithm randomly and get pertinent résultat like it was two years ago.

If StackOverflow teach me something, that is that legal jargon about copyright isn't very efficient again ctrl+C/ctrl+V

Angry users claim they are enabled to delete their own content from the site through the "right to forget," a common name for a legal right most effectively codified into law through the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Among other things, the act protects the ability of the consumer to delete their own data from a website, and to have data about them removed upon request. However, Stack Overflow's Terms of Service contains a clause carving out Stack Overflow's irrevocable ownership of all content subscribers provide to the site

It reality irritates me when ToS simply state they will do against the law.

Thank you for that. It will probably work well in pair with Lemmy. The ability to compile a community or instance knowlegde out of the comment section and to an organised wiki will be very nice.

But if someone here reading as the time and skill, the sofware the fediverse is lacking is tv tracker.

That girl is legendary. Je suis allé revoir l'extrait après avoir lu ce commentaire.
edit: episode 2, 11:30-13:45. That's how Bang Wool ascended to the Beolgoopo's Sashimi of legend.

Also, Jang Man-wol from Hotel Del Luna.

Côté Jdrama, il y a Sangenya Machi dans Your Hause Is My Business

What can you get to within a 15-minute walk of your house?

A recent YouGov survey asked Americans what they think they should be able to get to within a 15-minute walk of their house.

Of these choices, I can currently walk to all of them from my apartment, aside from a university (no biggie, I'm not currently studying, although there is a Tafe within walking distance), a hospital, and a sports arena.

How many can you get to with a 15 minute walk from your house?

Who needs a gas station within walking distance? One need a gas station within 15-minutes driving.

@pseudo@jlai.lu avatar

The side of a grocery store depends on where you live. In dense enough neighbourhood they are on the smaller side.

pseudo ,
@pseudo@jlai.lu avatar

I'm in Europe as well and I have gas stations that double as corner stores but also standalone corner stores so it doesn't make so much sense to me.

pseudo ,
@pseudo@jlai.lu avatar

I didn't think of that. But anyway I'm anticar and antilawn so...

pseudo ,
@pseudo@jlai.lu avatar

Actually, I'm am ! because those are often overwrapped in useless plastic packaging and I try to do zero waste.
I should try to by a bit more pro-thing rather than anti-. Would make my life happier.

I guess that's a baby step toward understanding the need of human-scaled infrastructure.

Actually they do. The zodiac sign constellation of a day correspond to the constellation over which the sun while be at noon. So you do have a zodiac sign constellation associated to your day of bird.
But depending on how your culture group stars in constellations you might be from a different zodiac.
If you want to follow a classical westerner map of the sky, they will be 13 of them.

Also, note that the zodiac signs won't cut the year in equal parts. Some constellations are just bigger than other and the sun path across the sky changes more or less quickly from a day to another depending on the time of the year.

Edit : typo

@pseudo@jlai.lu avatar

Thank you for this explanation.

pseudo , (edited )
@pseudo@jlai.lu avatar

That is not because something is made up that it does not exist. I made up this message hence it exists.
Cultures group stars together in what is called constellations, hence constellations exist.

pseudo ,
@pseudo@jlai.lu avatar

I would go even further : Santa Claus is presented as a actual person that we all know does not exist even though the concept exists. But noone ever pretended that Zodiac are a physical thing, it's a concept and concepts can't get more real that being conceptualized.

pseudo ,
@pseudo@jlai.lu avatar

Check out wikipedia. There is two pages each time one for the zodiac sign and one for the constellation.
And if you go to the french version, the dates at which the sun cross the constellation are each time in the introduction. It's the date of the first paragraph. The ones the second paragraph is the dates is in astrology, for disambiguation. The comparaison are harder with the english articles.
