You can also use network namespaces on Linux which Wireguard has a nice explanation and walkthrough on, recommending this as part of setting up wg connections. https://www.wireguard.com/netns/

seth ,

Yes, and also is fine if you're using a cell hotspot.

They discontinued the desktop client about a month ago, which is what made me stop using it.

seth ,

I did it on Arch and no problems!

Arch, BTW.

Also, I'm told it's going to really fail at some point, but so far, pacman -Syu has worked like a charm.

That was a fun song, t4t.

Is Adobe still the standard? When I realized browsers and 3rd party apps render PDFs much quicker than Reader, I started looking for other alternatives to Adobe. I was familiar with the flow of PaintShop Pro and GIMP, so now the very little I did in Photoshop I do in GIMP/Inkscape/a couple other freebie tools. When they acquired Macromedia and killed Flash, I was out of their ecosystem, so my poor knowledge of their products is almost 2 decades old. What are their can't-live-without products nowadays?

Does it have triangle bits? Nintendo uses some really unusual driver shapes.

Ooh, Figma looks interesting, thanks!

The very first part about Goodall and tool use in animals is incorrect. Darwin wrote about primates making and using tools, and presumably many other naturalists have for other creatures. He also wrote about musicality and other "human" features in animals as examples of how small evolutionary changes build up over time. Goodall did a lot of interesting research and observation and made it accessible to an easily distracted public, there's no need to fudge her accomplishments to make a point.

1 & 3: yes.
2: I'm wondering if when they talked about a panic in science, they meant a panic in not-science, like maybe pop science news or religion?

Right now there are a number of pop science news articles and channels saying physicists are panicking over Webb's confirmation of Hubble's observations of Cepheid variable stars and the expansion of the universe. But I haven't heard any actual physicists panicking, unless panicking means finding it really interesting and wanting to know more and do more observations and research.

Or maybe they meant there was a panic reaction to science news among religious politicians and public figures who were given a huge platform? They are always looking for ways to think of humans as distinctly more special than other animals. And they're always looking for ways to deny rights to anyone who isn't cis or straight.

After Signal dropped SMS support, I no longer use SMS. Only a few friends and family members use Signal, so it's been a pretty effective way to drop my screentime and live in the moment.

Pooping, and times when I'm waiting for other people to do something or show up somewhere, offer plenty of screentime. Speaking of which, it's now time to stop pooping. See y'all tomorrow.

Two Ds for a double dose of your experience reflecting mine.

You are a delightful ray of sunlight on an overcast day

Me too, it's a lot of effort but definitely worth it to feel more optimistic and to help other people feel the same!

I just had to switch to New Teams last week because Classic teams just continued to have more and more call drops and connection problems. The New Teams doesn't even have an option to change the notification sound, and now I can't move the banner that appears in the top center of the screen when screen sharing that covers up tabs in browsers and the main preferences/search dialog in VS Code...also a Microsoft product. Apparently no one at Microsoft noticed that one of their most used products used in the most normal way blocks out important functionality from another one of them.
