I know that once adblockers won't work anymore I will simply avoid YouTube.

whome ,

I know but it feels like it's getting more popular especially with younger people the teenagers and young teens that I know tend to be overwhelming drawn towards apple

Why is everybody so obsessed with tweaking and customizing an OS?! My systems are pretty much vanilla and apart from the file browser I hardly use any active OS features.

whome ,

My printer worked out of the box under Windows no driver or anything needed. Maybe I got lucky.

whome ,

You are an adult (probably), you'll manage. 🫰

That might be true I'm not well versed in EU law or any law for that matter, can you give some examples where you think that is the case?

When I think of EU laws that caught my attention it often was something that felt positive to me:

EU wide roaming
Travelers rights
Anti trust/privacy protection
Usb-c charging

Google Search is getting even worse for independent sites (www.theverge.com)

In February, HouseFresh managing editor Gisele Navarro called out publishers like BuzzFeed and Rolling Stone as some of the culprits that publish content about air purifiers despite a lack of expertise — but Google rewards these sites with high rankings all the same. The result is a search results page filled with SEO-first...

You could find stuff, it was often a very tedious process though. You searched for: thing XYZ doesn't work and found a lot of of forums with posts of people who had the same problem and with a bit of luck you found a two years old entry with an answer that actually worked for you. Now it's 20 results from the company that created the product you have a problem with but offers no solution at all.

For me it's simply laziness, and the fact that I don't use the OS apart from explorer. I think that's the thing for a lot of people the actively use so few parts of the OS that the question wether the OS is intrusive, bloatware free or efficient isn't part of their concern. They, me included, don't tinker, don't optimize, don't script etc. I just start the programs thati use. I probably will give Linux another go with my next PC build though.

whome ,

I think for many people, me included the OS is more or less invisible bc I use so few OS elements. File browser and that's it. Hardly any other gui feature comes to mind that isn't a third party program.

I don't get why micro transaction are never micro transactions. If a cosmetic item/feature in a game or sth. like discord would be 50ct up to a Euro, I would here and there buy sth. But they always want 5-15€ and that isn't money I'm willing to spend. Take Signal for example 5 € for a badge for 30 days is just stupid. I recently donated 20 euros still 30 days. The thing is I don't care for the badge but I think it could be beneficial to promote the ability to donate via the badge but the system they use, is really stupid.

whome ,

They look like this here in Germany, sure there was the brexit but do you really have s different version?

whome ,

Well the thing is we need to get away from individual transportation if we transform all ice cars to ev we won't really solve the problems we are facing...

whome ,

Driving my rocket powered car into someone so they explode. What a save.

whome ,

It's doable we are not in the kindergarten and school groups we might miss a few things but worked so fast for us. And I convinced both my job teams to use Signal

whome ,

Well for me it works and I have most of my people on either Signal or threema though threema is getting slowly obsolete

whome ,

I'm not like that but sometimes I throw two or three things on top of everything and everything gets clean. My only problem with her organization is it's not efficient, the machine would hold double the amount of dishes

whome ,

We need a big exodus of media then the platform would be dead for sure.
