None of these are applications, and the whole post reads like it was written by a machine, not sure what's the point though.

Stremio+Torrentio beat any legal option,
Cloudstream+Repository combo as second option to the first one.

Edit: for live TV sports premium IPTV.

Was that partly written by an AI? It has that flowery writing style that I can't imagine a human producing.

If I were to only use legal sources of media, then I would stick with either Apple TV or HBO Max (yeah it's still called that where I live). Otherwise I recommend Cloudstream for Android TV

On Linux there's also Celluloid, which is basically a GTK GUI for MPV

I've been using potplayer, it's really good alternative if someone wants to switch from vlc.

I switched from vlc, because of lack of availability of dark mode in it.

Hmm, why need dark mode in VLC? You launch a video file and watch it full screen anyway. Also, VLC has themes and last I checked there were couple of them which were sufficiently dark

abnv ,

Before trying other ones, i tried making vlc dark, it sucks.

Just use any dark theme available and then see how buttons, basic customisation of vlc and other prior cool design disappear & become unavailable after applying dark theme.

If you are using dark theme in vlc, can you share the pic here because I am curious how it looks like, last I tried around 7-8 months ago, it didn't work.

Potplayer is by default dark mode and has no of customisation available.

Plopp ,

Am I delirious? Doesn't VLC have dark mode? I'm pretty sure my VLC is dark.
